Anyone pick this up today? i heard its pretty good.

I got it on Tuesday and so far it is pretty good. It's not a typical movie-tie but rather an original story that takes place between Star Trek and Into Darkness. It was developed by Digital Extremes who worked on the Unreal Tournament franchise.

The voice acting is done by all of the films actors, and the soundtrack borrows heavily from Michael Giacchino's score. You can play as either Kirk or Spock and there are co-op missions you can play with friends.

The game plays a bit like Mass Effect and so far it has been a pretty varied mix of shooting, climbing, working your way around hazardous obstacles, taking control of the Enterprise in space combat, ect.

The exchanges between Kirk and Spock are written very well and ring true to the characters. At times it is quite humorous and is definitely the highlight of the game for me.

I didn't know anything about this game until a couple of days before it came out or I might have pre-ordered it. I generally stay away from games based on movies, but this one looks like fun.

I'm like Steve, I very, very, very rarely put any stock into movie tie in games. However, this one looks half way decent and has great reviews from people like critics to regular gamers on amazon.

Well I am think the game is decent. Its no Bioshock, but its no Aliens Colonial Marienes either.

I'll get it when the price drops lower. I was stoked when I saw the first trailer of it, last year at E3 I believe.

I find it funny how they emphasized how the dev had been making this game for three years. If true, it was a very small team. From what I have played and seen it looks like a rush job. The dev team is very talented (just see The Darkness 2 and the recently released Warframe for evidence of this) but all evidence suggests that this was a rush job.

So from what I have played, avoid this game and only consider it if you just have to play the tie in game once it hits under $10. Who knows though, maybe I just played the worst parts of the game and it is actually a gem (possible but unlikely).

i really wished this was worth it. i think i'll wait till it hits 20 something. i know its at 29.99, i want it for less.

Amazon currently has it listed for $9.99. For that price I grabbed it. Played a couple levels at a friend's house and it was pretty decent.

Down to $6.99 today for Best Buy's online Deal of the Day and at Amazon. Even though the reviews aren't that great, I've still been wanting to give it a shot. At $6.99, now is the time to give it that shot.

I am not much of a gamer(the only other 2 I own are Galactic Racing=it came w/PS3 system & Red Dead Redemption), but picked up PS3 Star Trek & hope to enjoy it!

It plays like Uncharted. Kind of. You run around and collect things. You shoot enemies while under cover. You traverse areas by climbing and jumping, etc. And it has the voice cast of the movies.

The game could be better for sure. but it is decent enough for a low price. For ten bucks it seemed okay.
