You'll Never Get Rich (1941) Blu-ray

Sony will be releasing the musical comedy film You'll Never Get Rich (1941), which stars Fred Astaire, and Rita Hayworth on Blu-ray on April 16th. This will be a pressed MOD release. The film was released twice on Blu-ray already, first by Twilight Time, and then part of a Mill Creek Rita Hayworth Collection. This new release does feature a new commentary track.

Synopsis

This delightful musical comedy about a Broadway dance director who finds himself drafted into the Army stars Rita Hayworth and Fred Astaire and features songs by Cole Porter. The dance sequences between Astaire and Hayworth are marvelous and the score earned an Oscar nomination.

It's nice to keep any Astaire movie in circulation with what I'm sure will be a top notch release.

But I kinda wish it was a Blu-ray release of You Were Never Lovelier. Especially since You Were Never Lovelier seems to be the better regarded of the two looking at reviews elsewhere. FYI, I've only seen You Were Never Lovelier (which I like).

Yeah everyone would like to see You Were Never Lovelier get released on blu-ray but there seems to be a legal issue preventing a US release. Twilight Time had to cancel their planned blu-ray release and Sony only sells it digitally in the UK, Australia, and Japan.

Doesn't seem to be much information available about the Sony release. I'm assuming all these releases are coming from the same master.

I have the TT release and I enjoyed it.

I might have to pick up this upcoming Indicator release.

I can't find any info or screenshots of TT's release. I do know the UK Indicator release, and this Sony release are sourced from a 4K restoration. You can look at the screenshots of the release here to see how they compare to your TT disc:
