Default Something strange on Sunday Night Football

While I was watching my beloved Cowboys beat down the Eagles, I noticed something strange.

There were quite a few bluray ads littered throughout the program, yet NONE for HD-DVD.

Considering that HD-DVD made it a huge point to mention advertising during Sunday Night Football I found this odd.

On another note:

Go Cowboys!

It was fun to watch the beating they gave them.

I was watching "Transformers" with that HDi crap turned on just for grins in between the Cowboys trashing of the Eagles. I had to see what the fuss was with HDi so I picked up an HD-A2 for $98; I prefer the movie "straight up"; i.e. without that PIP/IME crap blocking the movie.

Nevertheless, the HD-A2 is a fine bargain at $98 which I'll employ as a backup to my dual format player. I certainly hope I've seen the last of the A2s; if Toshiba can sell hundreds of thousands/millions of these at $200 or less, Blu-ray could be in trouble.

Um, cool.... i guess. Haven't most learned that convo's like this aren't cool. Anywoo yea saw the ads, not bad. The new PS3's Ad are all over the tv and mention Blu-ray support. Still have never seen a Hd-dvd commercial, if i did I'd probably go blind.

Um, are we talking about "Sunday Night Football" (or "Football Night in America") on Disney/ABC, or "Monday Night Football" on Disney/ESPN?

I was tempted to get one myself for $98. But it was the fact that it was only 1080i that kept me away.

Yes, on both accounts. I've noticed a marked increase in PS3 and Blu-ray advertising. I think it's a smart move. Advertise the crap out of HD DVD. Also, buy all the advertising on NBC/Universal stations.

HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!

Stupid Broncos.

I like the new PS3 ad (over the original with the creepy baby), but I still don't think they highlight Blu-ray well. They show a couple of seconds of Spidey, but for the uninitiated, they might think it's just another video game and has nothing to do with high def movies. I've only seen one version of the new PS3 ads (I assume they have several versions and hopefully one of the other versions really shows the Blu-ray angle).

Wow. Imagine if everyone on this board bought a $98.00 HD DVD player along with movie to see what the fuss was all about?

I think most of us would have rather spent the 98.00 plus that cost of the movies on some new blu-rays. All that sale was is a reponse to the BDA fire sale during Transformers week, except they couldnt have 10.00 movies because they didnt have many customers to buy them to make an impact, so they had 100.00 hddvd players in hopes of boosting sales. Might work or might not once people realize there arent any good movies to buy

It would keep all those players from falling into the hands of un-informed J6Ps who would then buy exclusively red! If all of us picked up the players (using topshiba's subsidy) and only bought blu movies from warner, and only bought used movies from the exclusive HD-DVD studios, there would be a zero attachment rate, it would defuse their impact.
