Probably not, as the French HDDVD didn't have any. But I don't remember any real need for subs.

Does anyone know if this will be region free? Amazon France has the pre-order up. I already have the HD-DVD, but am getting this for a friend who is not region free.

There will be no subtitles at all for L'Illusionniste, that's for sure (I've read it in Les Années Laser magazine and their reviews are reliable).

In don't think there will be subtitles for Les Triplettes (I can't confirm) but as far as I can remember (I saw it when it was released theatrically), there is virtually no dialogue at all, so the lack of subtitles shouldn't be a big problem for non French speaking viewers...

Thanks for the answer. I've seen 'Triplets' so i do agree they do not actually need subtitles. Yet i'm wondering if L'Illusionniste does. Have you seen it? I don't thinks there are a lot of speech in it but does one have to understand it to get the movie?

I've been waiting and waiting and waiting, and I haven't heard anything. The release of The Illusionist would have been the perfect opportunity to get this onto BD, like they did in France.

Honestly, I'm starting to think about getting a region free BD player and import from France, since there are a couple of other French titles I'm starting to lose hope about as well.
