In 2012, Shadow Dancer won Best Actress Award (Andrea Riseborough) at the British Independent Film Awards.

Adapted by Tom Bradby from his own novel. Belfast native Colette McVeigh (Riseborough) comes from a family of well-known IRA sympathisers. After being arrested on suspicion of carrying a bomb on the London Underground, she is questioned by MI5 operative Mac (Owen), and told that if she does not co-operate with the authorities her young son will be taken from her. As Colette reluctantly takes on the role of informant for the British secret services, Mac tries to use her as a means of breaking the cycle of violence in 1990s Belfast.

saw this last Fall, I must admit though it didn't impress me all that much

I just finished watching this via On Demand and I thought that overall it was a solid film. The last 15 minutes or so were just very underwhelming to what this entire film had began as.

I guess the message of the film is that blood runs thicker than water.

I wouldn't recommend a blind buy, but rather a rent of this.

Excellent film- and great performances by the whole cast. I saw this at the cinema and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of my favorite films about the 'troubles' in Northern Ireland.

Was checking videoeta.com out today and it seems like a slow week but glad to check this out. Only heard about it when checking the girl's (from Oblivon) IMDB page and saw a pic of her with Clive.

Have an interest in these films and will be making my first trip to Ireland next month.
