Filming In April For Jim Carrey's Heist Comedy "Loomis Fargo"

It was first revealed last year, the director of Napoleon Dynamite is now firmly set to rob a bank, and Jim Carrey is along for the ride.

Relativity Media has acquired worldwide rights to finance, produce and distribute the action-comedy heist film currently titled Loomis Fargo starring Jim Carrey, it was announced this week by Relativity. The project, directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre), based on an original screenplay by Emily Spivey (Up All Night) and written by Chris Bowman (The Wrong Brother) and Hubbel Palmer (Humble Pie), is targeted to start production in North Carolina this April.

Inspired by true events, Loomis Fargo tells the story of a disgruntled bank employee who is ready to take a chance and risk it all for love, money, and a life he’s only dreamed of. Teaming up with his work crush, they conspire to rob the financial institution. Together with their accomplices, the inexperienced criminals nab nearly $20 million - leaving a trail of evidence in their wake. Now the only thing tougher than pulling off the heist - will be getting away with it.

"Dumb and Dumber To" was also set to begin filming in April, no word if it is delayed or cancelled.

Love Jared Hess, so this might be one to keep an eye on. His films have such an amazing, surreal sense of humour...he's like a poor man's Wes Anderson

Gentleman Broncos was effing terrible though. I almost thought his career would go completely down the drain after that. Huge Nacho Libre fan though, hope this will be more funny like that and not down right bizarre like GB.

Now that Dumber and Dumber 2 is delayed until it gets picked up by another studio, Loomis Fargo is back in first place. When filming begins is not out yet, but Owen Wilson will play the second main character. More casting news is coming in the next weeks.

Some sites bring the news that Jim Carrey is out to do "Ricky Stanicky" (written by Steve Oedekerk) instead and Zach Galifianakis is replacing him. Not confirmed yet.

According to some tweets coming from people involved in this project, Jim Carrey is still in, both Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis are the co-stars.
