Default PS3 SRT Subtitles?

HI guys, i tried doing some research before giving up. I have so many asian movies with SRT subtitles. I am using my ps3 and Serviio as a media server, but what i would like to know is how in the hell can u guys see the subtitles on ps3?... and also is there a way that the sub titles inside mkv files can be displayed when watching a movie on ps3?.. Thanks a bunch in advance!

Have you tried the subtitles option? Whilst the movie is playing press and there is an option for subtitles. I can't be certain though, whether the PS3 supports SRT subs

PS3 Media Server supports SRT subs. Try that instead.

I use a program called AVIAddXSubs

It basically merges the .srt with the .avi file and creates and xvid that can be played by the PS3

Works great and it is extremely fast (at least faster than I expected, a 2 hour video may take a couple minutes to complete merging the subtitles in the same file)

hey man, thanks for that program info. I have the SRT subtitle and the mp4 video in the same folder and as the same name as each other. When i choose the mp4 video file in that AVIAddXSubs.... its extracting it fine but only thing i am geting after extraction is the IDX/SUB file and not an xvid video.. any idea what i should be doing ?

You did? Then how? It hurts when people figures their problem and they don't share. You could save someone... like me now, for example

Ohh and did you try the exact same thing but with a 3d movie?
