Default Is there any point to getting BD if listed AR on it is 1.33:1/(4:3)?

Hello all

Kinda new to this game so still learning.

But I was looking at getting a few older films and other titles that by Amazons spec's, it lists their aspect ratios at 1.33:1 (or 4:3 I suspect).

For example these ones are:
Miracle on 34th Street: http://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Street...on+34th+street
A Christmas Carol: http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Caro...on+34th+Street
March of the Wooden Soldiers: http://www.amazon.com/March-Wooden-S...ooden+soldiers

Essentially I gather these movies were either not made originally for say 1920x1020 or 1280x720 ratios, or made for TV. Or if they were, have never been made over to those by the studios.

So one, am I correct that even off a BD disk with these, I'm still going to get black boxes on the sides if watched on a wide screen TV?

An second, even if I am OK with that, am I still getting "on the disk" for just the main movies itself, anything better by getting them in BD over just a regular DVD's?

Note: main point I am asking "on the disk" is I plan to put these on my HTPC setup not run them via a BD player, so at least for mine, what ever is native to the disk is really all I'm going to get. Or more could say, yeah there is some upgrading going on, but if the raw media on the disk is really no better then a DVD (which I actually have some of these in already) then no point in going for BD for them over straight DVD.

Anyway, hope that wasn't to long winded for a probable simple question, but just wanted to give some background to what why I am asking as thought it would help.

Thanks for any help.
