Default New Muppets series possibility for Disney streaming service

Take with huge grains of salt: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/li...ervice-1086800

ABC's "The Muppets" didn't go as well as planned, ending after one season. Who knows if it will end up streaming on the new service (since it is not 100% family oriented).

A new Muppets series could do well, but then again so could throwing the original Muppet Show up on the service. Or Muppet Babies, now that Disney owns the majority of the necessary pieces (Muppets, Lucasfilm, Marvel animation)...

That muppet show was incredible. So sad it didn’t last as it was really funny and well written. Don’t really know what went wrong but it should have lasted.

Loved the Animal/Dave Grohl drum off:
“Was that the bell? Time to go to school!”

The show on ABC was so much incredibly better than sitcoms that come out nowadays, let alone the ones that get renewed.

Would love for there to be more Muppets!

In the age of #metoo it's embarrassing that one of the industries most well documented serial sex pest and violent harasser can still get work.

Thank you everybody. It's time we don't see Missy Piggy again next time on The Muppet Show.

*wink wink*

'The Muppets' Disney+ Comedy Series Scrapped

Quote:
Creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis (Once Upon a Time) and Josh Gad (Frozen) have walked away from the scripted comedy, called Muppets Live Another Day, which they had been quietly at work on for months, and Disney+ has opted to abandon work on the series. (Though never officially announced, the project has been in the works since at least February.)

Sources say the creative differences arose after producers Muppets Studios recently changed executives. Kitsis, Horowitz and Gad had been prepping what they playfully referred to as Muppets 1984, an eight-episode limited series that took place after the events of Muppets Take Manhattan. Kitsis and Horowitz had been working directly with Muppets Studios vp Debbie McClellan on the project.
