The first Monster Hunter game for Vita is a port of the 2007 PC release, which has since been released for Xbox 360 and is also coming to Wii U and PS3.
Revealed at Tokyo Games Show, Capcom said the port will release next year.
The PS3 version will be able to cross-play with its handheld counterpart, with Siliconera reporting that the Vita version will share worlds with the PS3 title.
Monster Hunter Frontier has never been released outside of Japan, and it remains unlikely that Monster Hunter Frontier G on Vita will see a release in the West.
News of a Monster Hunter game coming to the Vita comes not long after Capcom's COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto said that the series was done with Sony hardware.
Tsujimoto confirmed that Capcom has no plans to port Monster Hunter 4 to the Vita, as he wants as many people as possible playing it on the 3DS.
