Default Uh Oh! I've Got Dead Pixels!

I just noticed one dead pixel on my sharp AQUOS 42 " LCD. I have heard Sharp tv's are bad for this. The pixel is green and right in the middle of the screen, you can't notice it when there is an image on the screen, only when it is completely black. What should I do about this?? I have a 5 year warranty from future shop. The sales guy at the store said that I might have this problem, I should have bought the Sony I think. If one pixel has gone already in less than 5 months who's to say in a couple of years that there won't be a whole bunch of them. Any suggestions guys??

im working and really really bored so i hit the new posts every 5 seconds till i find something interesting.
i dont know how futureshop works cuz i got mine from bestbuy but im having a slight problem with one of the speakers (it lags a bit at first) and bestbuy said i'd have to call some service center and they come take a look. now for pixel burnouts i'd suggest you go first in person and ask them what to do... whatever you do DON'T bring your tv and tell them "i have a problem" they'll most likely send you home.
hopefully they give you a new one. if they're gonna do that try and weasle your way into getting credit for it and put it towards a sony

Default yeah

yeah that's what I'm thinking. See I actually know the salesman. He's my sisters friend so I think I would have a good shot at it. But since it's only one dead pixel I'm kind of worried they won't accept it. But man is the sony really that much better, I mean I am a picture quality freak and I simply cannot beleive how good the pq is on the tv. I'm worried that if I get the sony I might think I made a mistake. Where do you work by the way?? And also which model of Sony??

i dont have a sony (i regret it too) and i work at a security company. i have a samsung (see signature). especially if you have a hook up try and get something else man... the quality on the bravia's is unreal. i was in the sony store the other day and i was looking at they're Sony Bravia 52" and they had some bd with some italian stuff in it and there was this girl on the screen... and it was so clear i thought i could reach out and grab her arm

Default k

one thing that ticks me off about futureshop, is that I bought the tv 5 months ago, and now you can get a ps3 with it surround sound system (only 5.1 though) plus the prices have come down like 300 - 400 dollars. But that is the way the ball rolls for me I guess. Just like how when I bought my ps3 it was $649 and now they are $399 with a game.

Might want to read your warranty and see how it pertains to dead pixels. Some warranties will only cover it if there are a certain amount of dead pixels.

FWIW, I love my Sony SXRD, but I was considering a Sharp Aquas for the bedroom. Making we wonder about it now though.

im checking out the prices of the bravias now, i paid 1999.00 for my tv but he knocked off 300 right off the bat because he knew me. So I basically got the higher end model for the same price as the lower end model. plus he gave me my rogers programming free and a monster hdmi cable for half price, 75 instead of 150. But this could hurt me if I'm going for store credit, lol!

from Canada?? im in ontario

I have go with the Sony recommendations. You can see what I'm currently running in my sig, but on top of that, my last Sony was a 36" XBR Wega, and the picture still looks absolutely incredible on it, and it's at least 8-10 years old now. I gave it to my mom to use in her new house, since I've upped the ante to HDTV. I've never had a problem with Sony, they're rock-solid, and like the saying goes: you get what you pay for...

Default which one??

pedigree, which tv from this list

http://www.futureshop.ca/search/sear...=EN&search=KWS

which is the best for around 2000 to 2500 hundred dollars?? i cant really pay to much more than the sharp cause im trying to upgrade my sound system to.

P.S. I'm kind of in a depressed mood cause I have to go to work tomorrow an dthe guy I work with is a chain smoker and it's really disgusting. He's not even aloud to smoke in there but he doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself. Man I dread mondays.

We're getting ready to remodel our bedroom here, and I'm going to do the same thing, no more getting out of bed to change movies! I'm thinking about putting my BDP-S1 in the bedroom and picking up the new Panasonic for the living room. $499 for the next-gen Blu-ray player?! You gotta love that...
