Well since this will (hopefully) be my first launch system since my N64, and ps2, I just had a few questions
Can I even pre-order anymore? Amazon seems to be the only place left.. At least at all the major resalers around me.. Does amazon ship or deliver on release day? I guess I'll just stop there with the questions for now, since if I can't order or pick one up day one it won't help me much lol I love xbl, the controller and having all my friends on there, so that was the only reason I was holding on to Xbox one. But not owning or even liking for that matter anything windows, I thought I would give ps4 and ps+ a try... I'm sure in the future I might own both, but for now ps4 seems to be at a clear advantage in pre-sales. And am hoping to pick one up. |

make sure what you pre-order at Amazon if it is "launch", you should be OK. but "standard" means that you will get it later (when more are available). |

It doesn't look like even Amazon has any PS4 pre-order allocation left, period. Even the Standard (non-launch) edition is out of stock there.
Amazon was sold out of standalone launch PS4's within a day back in June, and the launch bundles quickly went out of stock when they went up for sale. Wal-Mart's online storefront says it still has some stock on PS4 bundles, and it "says" the PS4 will ship on 11/15 as a bundle... http://www.walmart.com/ip/PS4-Consol...-Game/24911000 Maybe try that? |

Great thank you all for the heads up only reason I waited so long is just for the fact that Im 34 and not a die hard gamer anymore.. Kinda lost my steam and am usually to busy to play anyways, so It never crossed my mind.. Ill check with walmart and see what their bundles look like. As long as I can get it by black friday, that would be great, if not.. ehh Im just curious to see how the stores have them stocked on the shelves. Our Wii U Deluxe was a PITA to find, but we did find one on BF last year at Target.. Also Ive been on XBL for 6 years so never had much interest in the ps4 but now.. lol things have changed a bit.. Also.. If I preorder a bundle from walmart, is that a launch release, or when ever they get it in? |

i dont think drive club looks better than Forza, but i am interested... I REALLY wanna see what the next gen does w sports games.. especially the overlooked ones... sayyyyy, Tiger woods.... whats can they possibly do to a game that looks better than the 2010 woods models, and 2013/masters development?? Jesus, at some point we are talking reality here..

Well. I've not seen a lot of either yet so it's hard saying. But I do like Drive Clubs environments. That points kind of moot anyway. I'm going Playstation regardless. And there will be other racing games as well...

Forza is a sim racer like Gran Turismo. The Xbox One release of Forza Motorsport 5 looks good and runs at a brisk 1080p/60fps but sacrifices a lot of what would make such a game next-gen. The lighting is baked (so you always race at the same time of day for each track), and the shadows cast by cars don't look very good. DriveClub is more of an arcade racer. Evolution Studios says they're trying to get it up to 60 frames per second, but haven't guaranteed they'll get there. The lighting system in DriveClub is much more advanced than Forza 5's, as the position of the sun literally changes over time as you race, changing the look of the track drastically between night and day. |

Well, I just saw this link in another thread of the same topic. So maybe you will be able to find one in a store.

Looks like Target has bundles too. One is Battlefield and the other is TC: Ghosts. They aren't day 1 consoles and kind of feel like you are paying for the game and extra controller(or does it already come with two?). I miss bundles where I didn't realize I was doing that.

At least Assassins Creed looks like a mostly bright game. And the headlights in Drive Club I think will be sufficient for racing in the dark. However, I have the impression I can control the day night cycle in Drive Club if I decide I don't want to race at night. I hope it works out so it's fine to see at night though. |
