Default Rovi stops selling Blu-ray authoring softwares

Press release received:

Quote:
Dear ,

Rovi is beginning the End of Life (EOL) process for the Scenarist, CineVision and TotalCode Professional product lines. These products may have been originally sold to you under the Sonic brand name. As you may know, Sonic was purchased by Rovi Corporation in 2011. We are proud of the role that these products have played in the success of the DVD and Blu-ray formats. A complete list of products and SKUs affected by this announcement can be found here.
As the market is quickly transitioning to digital delivery of content, Rovi is shifting its product focus to delivering tools targeted at high volume, multi-server, automated transcoding of content. Rovi plans to continue to make available solutions such as TotalCode Enterprise and TotalCode Studio, which are unaffected by this announcement. Rovi remains committed to delivering the tools that will power the next critical formats and help support strong businesses for our customers.

Rovi will be accepting last time orders for the Scenarist, CineVision and TotalCode Professional products through December 31, 2012. Customers may also place last time orders for maintenance and support contracts during this timeframe. Maintenance and support services for these products will officially end on December 31, 2013.

End of life products: Scenarist, CineVision and TotalCode Professional
• Last order date: December 31, 2012
• Support end date: December 31, 2013

If you would like to place last time orders for products or support, please contact your reseller or sales representative for assistance.
For the Americas, EMEA, Australia, New Zealand and India, please contact Maria Tsilimidos (....com).
For Japan and the rest of APAC, please contact Masashi Nemoto
(.......).
Sincerely,
Rovi Corporation

Now here are some really cool news - Scenarist LLC have taken up the work again and will soon be selling Scenarist 6.0.

See more at http://www.scenarist.com

I know I'm getting an upgrade once I can muster the $$$...

I thought Sony Blu-print pretty much dominated this market. It will be interesting to see who has the first authoring software that will do UHD Blu-ray.
