I have the same player and had the same problem with Halloween's second disc. It would show the company logo's that show up before the main menu and then it would go black after the Dimension logo. I just messed around with the players settings, like turned screen messages from off to on, or disabled BD live, or something like that and it played. It's strange though because I updated the Firmware when I first got it

Check out the BD-P1500 thread....https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...=40461&page=38
It's a firmware issue. Samsung says that a new firmware is to be out in December to be able to play this movie. I also have this movie and it does not play. I've been calling Samsung once a week since I bought the movie on October 21. That is what they have been telling me, so keep an eye out on their website and hopefully it will come sooner than later... ![]() |

I started out with a Samsung and have since moved on to more reliable equipment. Life is too short to be constantly fooling around with firmware updates

Anyone know if the FW update for the PD1000 that came out on Nov 14 lets that player play FYEO?
A friend has the craptastic PD1000 and I upgraded his FW and picked him up copies of the Bond Blu Rays as well.... hope he can play them. There are some players that have yet to get FW updates that play every movie. (Though they are 1.1 players that lack BD Live.) -Brian |

Agreed, I first purchased a Samsung BD-P1500 player...at first it was working fine. Then after a few months while watching Blu-rays, the video would begin to chop up randomly. I exchanged it for another one and had the same problem. Also when I tried to play a regular DVD, it would say "no disc" ??? after that I returned it and bought a Sony BDP-S350 and have been more than pleased with it's performance.

I have the two James Bond packs so far. For your eyes only doesn't play. Just hangs after the warning/copyright messages. Doesn't go to the menu screen. Today a friend gave me a second copy of the film and it does exactly the same thing. Two dud copies seems unlikely. All the other 5 play fine. Anyone have any ideas?
I have a Samsung I think its the 5000 series plays both blu and HD |

I'm certain that this is a firmware issue. There were multiple problems with the Bond movies on multiple players. Several threads about it here in the forum I think. Update your firmware and everything will probably be fine. Hopefully Samsung has addressed the issue by now. They seem to be pretty slow on getting out the firmware updates though, so maybe not.
I finally got around to watching FYEO just a couple of days ago. It played fine on my player, but it's a Panasonic. Panny is awesome about not having many compatability problems, and about fixing them when they do show up which is very rare. |

I recently traded in my fat PS4 for a PS4 slim and this disc is no longer working for me. It will load and go through the legal messages but will not go to the menu... anyone else with a PS4 slim have this issue? I've disabled and reenabled the net to see if that had any issue... it did not.

I have a Sony Blu-ray player from 2009 that still works fine, never applied any firmware updates and have never had issues with playing a disc other than an issue caused by a scratch, returned disc and got a replacement and it worked fine.
Glad I haven't needed to do a firmware update because I'm not even sure how one does it. |
