Default The Ultimate "Horror" Challenge!!!

(I just found out a October Horror movie challenge already exists after writing this. Maybe if enough people want to do this challenge, I'll move it to November, let me know what you think. Odds are most people are not going to want to do this, but anyways, I think it'd be fun )

EDIT 2!!!: I'm considering making a poll or something so that the forum members who want to participate in this actually get to choose the movies themselves! Let me know what you think! Also, the challenge will be moved to November!

Hello fellow movie-addicted people ,
Today I bring you the ultimate challenge. After reading the title, you probably thought that this challenge consisted of watching 31 horror movies (which equals one per day), since Halloween is actually next month. You were wrong.

The reason this challenge is called "THE ULTIMATE HORROR CHALLENGE!!!" is because you'll be faced with the worst abominations ever created in movie history. Are you capable of doing it? Can you complete the challenge? You'll have nightmares, the worst you'll ever have; You'll beg for it to end, but it won't. In the end, you'll feel so proud of yourself that no other accomplishment will have anything on this. Alright this is getting too stupid, I'm gonna stop writing like this...
But can you do it...? This challenge is not for the faint hearted. Shall we begin..?

First - You'll have to watch 31 "movies" handpicked by ME. Yes, in this challenge, you don't get to choose what movies you watch. Don't like it? GET OUT!

Second - I'm sure most of you are already antecipating some of the movies that are going to be released in theaters in October, so I came up with something so that no one misses out on any movies they want to watch in theaters this month. It'll make the challenge harder for you, but I already warned you that this challenge is harsh. So the thing is, every 2 movies watched at the cinema equals to one of the default movies in the challenge. Example: You want to see Gravity and Rush at the cinema. After you see those two, you'll be able to replace one of the movies in the challenge list with those two, meaning that at the end of the challenge you'll have watched 32 movies (if you haven't seen anymore films at the cinema of course :P) (MOVIES YOU WATCH AT HOME DO NOT COUNT!);

Third - The movies are to be watched in the order I gave them to you. I'll explain that better - You have watched Abomination Number 1 from the challenge list. Next movie you watch has to be Abomination Number 2 from the list, meaning that you can't skip from Abomination Number 1 to Abomination Number 6 and leave Abomination Number 2 for later.

Fourth (Related to third) - Rule Number 3 applies to the movies you watch in the cinema. For example, you watched Abomination Number 8 - If you watch two movies at the cinema, you'll only be able to replace the Abomination next to the one you watched most recently.

Fifth - Since in Halloween, people tend to watch GOOD horror movies, I'm making an exception as well, like the one I made in Rule Number 2. Beginning FROM OCTOBER 27TH TO OCTOBER 30TH, every two horror movies watched equals to one Abomination on the list. Unfortunetely, you can't replace Abomination Number 31, since I want everyone to suffer watching that!

Now, for the Abominations you'll have to watch (IN THAT ORDER!):
THE ULTIMATE MOVIE CHALLENGE - ABOMINATION LIST!

ANYONE WHO CAN FINISH THE CHALLENGE IS THE ULTIMATE MOVIE WATCHER! GOOD LUCK!

Spider Man 3 is an abomination? At least the CGI was competent in that film, unlike The Amazing Spider-Man. You want other suggestions for the abominations? Add Only God Forgives, Halloween Resurrection, Slaughtered Vomit Dolls and Room 237.

Not to rain on your parade, but some of those aren't as bad as you're making them out to be:

Troll 2 - hell of a fun time, a classic "so-bad-it's-good" film

Twilight movies - not as bad as people make it out to be; Hunger Games is FAR worse

Wicker Man - great movie, with a great performance from the Cage

The Happening - easy sit, fun movie to make fun of, Unbreakable, Signs, Village, Lady in the Water are all HORRIBLE and way worse

Spider-Man 3 - emo Peter Parker is hilariously weird; X3 is way worse

Jason Takes Manhattan - badass movie, I quote in in my signature

Jason X - badass film, Cronenberg cameo , the only really bad F13 movie is Jason Goes To Hell; a lot of Halloween sequels are terrible

The Room - another classic "so-bad-it's-good" film, easy and fun sit

---

That being said, Jack and Jill alone is enough to stop me from getting through the list, so I guess the other 30 choices don't really matter. Smurfs, Last Airbender, Year One, Disaster Movie are also ones I have never had the guts to see yet.

Movie 43 I don't think I'll ever see, but I gather than InAPPropriate Comedy is the same thing, but somehow makes Movie 43 look like the Citizen Kane of horrifically bad sketch comedy films.

I highly doubt anyone will partake in a challenge of 31 movies picked by one person, especially one person's opinion of "abominations". This seems more like a list of movies that it's popular to hate.

Several of these are watchable, and a couple of them I even like. There are far, FAR worse movies out there than many of these.

I'd wager that 90% of this forums Horror "fans" couldn't sit through this one. I don't often throw out films, but there really is nothing redeemable about that pile of crap.

I haven't even watched most of these movies. I did some research on bad movies and these are the ones that popped up in most of the lists I saw. Yes, many of them are so bad-it's good, but they are still bad movies. I just called them abominations cause I somehow find it funny
I put Spider-Man 3 because they royally screwed up Venom, one of my favorite Marvel characters, and Sandman. Goddamn they even screwed up the Uncle Ben's death story! That movie was a mess and I absolutely hate it!

Anyways, might as well movie it to November. I think this would actually be really fun, but most people don't think it's such a good idea. Just let me know.

EDIT: Alright maybe BEFORE the challenge starts, we could all choose the movies that would be part of the list. Maybe that'll be even more interesting :P
Once again, just let me know!

In all honesty, this is a fun idea. It's just that I barely have enough time these days to watch the movies that I actually want to watch.

It's just like the other challenges that are being made every month here on the forum. It's just something different

I just sat through The Host. The Andrew Niccol one, not the awesome Korean film. It's this decade's Battlefield Earth. I'd nominate it as an abomination.

Which makes it a true abomination. I was utterly bored and annoyed with it but you know what? I'm a nice guy so you'd only have to watch this comedic review: http://blip.tv/diamanda-hagan-lecher...lls-hd-6323413

I, nakashima, will have to decline this challenge. It's as flaky as Bobby Flay's Ninja Challenge.

Shoot him an email. Maybe we can start a challenge between the two of you to see who wins November. It can be like Battle Royale

The Great Owl -- choose your weapon!

Seriously Tom, here's Bobby Flay's email.

SVD certainly is among the most repugnant films there are.

Then again, this website exists: http://thelastexit.net/cinema/index.html. Who knows what's lurking in there?

Oh, no. The Host is at least an order of magnitude below Battlefield Earth, for me, anyways. As far as I am concerned, there are legitimately "so-bad-it's-good" films like Troll 2, Birdemic, Plan 9, The Room, Sharknado, and so on, that are actually fun to watch. Then, below that, are films like Battlefield Earth which I call "strangely watchable Hollywood trainwrecks" which aren't really "fun" to watch and make fun of, but they are watchable and you can't turn away. From what I gather, "After Earth" would fit in this category (haven't seen it). And then below that tier, is straight-up horrible films like "The Host."

But yeah, the Host was bad. Way worse than I expected.

I knew it was going to be awful but I wasn't expecting something THAT bad. After Earth is horrendous too.

BTW I mostly used Battlefield Earth just because it's arguably the closes thing we have to a 21st. century high budget Plan 9.
