Question Are you going to buy a Playstation 4?

Sony announced the Playstation 4 this evening. It will be available for the 2013 holiday season. Are you planning to buy a PS4?

Probably not at first. I don't have that kind of dough (yes, no price confirmed yet but it'll be expensive). I'll continue using the PS3, but I'll make the move to it gradually. Graphically, there isn't that big of a jump and I would have preferred true backwards compatibility and not the cloud thing they have. It's still cool to be able to play older games though!

I can't really choose any of these answers since none really fit my plan. I will definitely get one once all of the kinks are worked out, which should be around the time of a price drop, an added bonus.

Not at first, but when the reliability issues have been worked out and the backwards compatability cloud service happens, then I will.

The last gaming system I bought was a PS2, and if I can't play those games with this, I'm not getting one.

If something really great is announced as a launch title and it launches at around $400, I'll probably get one at launch. Otherwise I'll probably wait for a great deal sometime next year.

I'm definitely glad the next generation is finally coming (Wii U doesn't count) and I'm sure I'll prefer PS4 to the next Xbox.

so you're never getting another gaming system....at least not one by sony?

the past is the past and it can't be changed. possibly with the new one you'll be able to download older games from the original ps, ps2 &/or ps3 since it seems they're headed towards cloud gaming anyway.

which is why i won't be getting one.

Yeah, but I'm not going to re-buy a game I already own and have to worry about the stupid cloud.

I really don't game that much, and while I've been wanting to play some of the newer games, it's not worth it for me unless I can play the games I already have and love.

I guess I'll see how the X-Box turns out, otherwise I'll just keep my PS2.

once i know any kinks/bugs are worked about and it's $350 or less, i'll jump on it.

may jump sooner if it'll play ps3 games and i can dump all of my game saves on it and still play online for those ps3 games.

Definetily not when it first comes out. I'm not going to pay full price for it since I don't have that kind of money at that moment. Plus, I still have plenty of games left that I want to play on PS3 so I know it'll still get its workout.

So buying a new system will somehow force you to sell your PS2?

Yes, I only want one system taking up space.

Nope will be buying the new Xbox instead. I have never been a fan of the Playstation and never will be.

I probably will assuming that it will have backwards capabilities.

I had a PlayStation 3 since release and I spent most of my time playing Metal Gear Online 3, but since the server has been terminated since June 2012, I haven't been gaming as much anymore.

I know Metal Gear Solid 5 will come out and it will have Metal Gear Online 3, which makes me hopefully to play again.

I still have Hitman and Metal Gear Rising to play, as well as Tomb Raider and The Last Of Us in the future.

You're assuming wrong. They said it won't.

Oh, well I didn't really watch the coverage. All I saw was Killzone and the racing game.

A friend was telling about the controller, but that's about all.

I'm not going to make a point to get it at first. Just like most electronics, I wait until the kinks are worked out.

Heck yeah I'm going to buy one.I'd love to get one first day, too (I have never bought a system day 1). About backwards compatibility, yes it sucks that it won't have it, but I'll still have my PS3 sitting right next to it when I get one (which there is no question of if I'll get one, only when).
