This is a film that I find to be one of the most criminally underrated films ever.
You have Gene Hackman, Patrick Swayze, Fred Ward, Reb Brown, Tim Thomerson, Robert Stack, Randall Tex Cobb...an amazing cast. You have the director Ted Kotcheff who had directed First Blood the year before. It's fun, it's heartfelt, it has great characters, it has a good score by James Horner, an emotional ending, fun action... Here is hoping to getting a Blu-Ray of this one day. It richly deserves it. ![]() |

One of those 80's warhero flicks that just keep on giving. Real enjoyment to watch. Casting is great at least to say, and Randall "Tex" Cobb's role as 'Sailor' is absolutely fabulous. It would be super to see it on blu-ray.

From The Golden Child with Eddie Murphy, to April Fool's Day 1986, to The Hunted with Tommy Lee Jones, to this one...so many films I enjoy of their's...and no Blu-Ray. |

Yup, a great film. Gene Hackman had such good judgement, I can't remember a bad film that he was in. Paramount

I too would love to see this great film on Blu-ray. Currently I'm using a Sony XBR-55X900F 4K UHDTV combined with a Sony STR-DN1080 AVR and a Sony UPB-X800M2 4K Player. When I play the DVD of this movie on my Sony UBP-X800M2 Player it receives a 480/24p SDR BT. 601 YCbCr 4:2:0/8 bit signal. The Sony UBP-X800M2 Player upscales the signal to a 1080/24p STR BT. 709 YCbCr 4:4:4/12 bit signal and sends it out to my TV. The TV upscales that signal to 3840x2160p 4k !6.9 giving me near Blu-ray quality.
