I am still enraged that Disney hasn't even released this great film Anamorphic 16x9 in any format! This year marks the 20th anniversary so please use this link to request it from Disney. You only get to choose VHS or DVD!?! Just make sure you add (anamorphic, 16x9 or enhanced for widescreen) after the title so the blockheads get the idea.

I got the German blu-ray in today. I can confirm that this disc is region B locked.
But if you can play region B discs by some means, I'm happy to report that while not demo material it has a nice natural image, and is a nice upgrade from the DVD. Also the cover is reversible so you can avoid the big yellow rating.

For a region B player, it's very easy to navigate the disc menu, has the following options;

• Film Starten - Play
• Sprachen/ton - Choose languages, German is default & German subs are included (no English subtitles)
• Kapitel - Choose chapters
• Extras - Original Trailer (PAL) + 3 dubbed to German trailers of other Concorde releases (Bandslam, Le Concert & Bikur Ha-Tizmoret).

I'd like to revisit it some day. It was a movie that I didn't enjoy a whole lot as a little kid because our class was pretty much forced to watch it at the theater when it came out and the slow pace was hard to focus on back then.

So, there must be an HD version.

Or...you can scroll up and see it's been released on blu-ray and been available for streaming in HD for years so, yes, it's obviously available with an HD master.

MR. HOLLAND'S OPUS is available from Australia in full HD. The package states that it is Region B, but I can assure you that it plays perfectly in my USA-locked Sony Blu-ray players.
