Default Relocating to Salt Lake City...advice?

It's looking like my fiance and I will be relocating to Salt Lake City in the near future for school at U of U. I haven't spent any serious time there, and I wondered if anyone here had any advice about the city, like areas to avoid living, decent, inexpensive places for a grad student to live? Thanks

Avoid West Valley City or the Redwood area. The streets are kind of hard to navigate, but once you live there long enough you will get used to them. A lot of stuff is closed on Sunday. Summer weather is nice, it stays light till around 9 PM because of DST.
