Blu-ray Samurai

![]() ![]() I searched but didn't find a dedicated thread for the Blu-ray (there is a thread for the movie itself) and with no review on this site, I figured I'd add one and link it to the release. Since this film seems to be highly praised via top Google results, and since on first glance it has a lot of promising concepts and checks a lot of checkboxes for me, I thought I'd offer a contrasting opinion and I've posted a user review. Despite my criticism I don't think it's that bad a film... it just had so much more potential and I had higher expectations of it. |

Initially I couldn’t work out whether I loved it or hated Aniara, but I found myself thinking about it for a few days afterwards - which is always a good sign, so I bought it. I liked the end a lot, one of the best things about it.

I think it stumbled in a lot of ways and had potential to be a better film. The despair was there. You could understand the hopelessness that was in play, but there's a detachment to it by the characters in the end that seemed out of place. Perhaps there's a numbness that takes hold of them near the end, but it seemed like a missed opportunity the way it was presented.
