Xenoblade Chronicles coming to the U.S. - April 2012 - Blu-ray Forum

Thanks in large part to a campaign by American gamers Xenoblade Chronicles is finally being localized for U.S. release. This game is widely viewed as the best RPG to come out on the Nintendo Wii, receiving great reviews in it's Japan and Euro releases. Target release date in the U.S. is April 2 2012, though apparently it'll only be sold at Gamestop and direct from Nintendo. I just pre-ordered today from Nintendo since I despise GameStop and won't buy from them.

I'm as pumped for this release as any RPG in a long time.

There's also a campaign to bring two other great RPG's called The Last Story and Pandora's Tower to the U.S. Not sure what the status on those is.

Finally got around to preordering this from Nintendo. I might get a 2nd copy to keep sealed since this is going to be a limited release.

Wii games aren't region free. My understanding is that Australia consoles play games from the PAL (Euro) region. The PAL version of Xenoblade Chronicles has been out for months now. You can buy it now if you want to.

Release does seem to be limited since only Nintendo online and Gamestop are selling it. However pre-orders are surprisingly very good. There are currently over 106,000 (13th highest game overall) pre-orders in the U.S. Not bad at all for a limited release.

Yes, I received e-mail notification this evening that my Xenoblade Chronicles order shipped today and my credit card was billed. Considering it shipped from Washington and I live in Florida and it's Easter weekend I'm not expecting it to arrive for several days.

Picked up mine today from Gamestop and also received the pre-order bonus art book. I paid for mine with Trade In Credit from Batman: AC flips so ended up spending around $25 out of pocket for it.

Ok I finally see the charge on my checking account. It's been there for a few days but it was still pending and I couldn't see where it was from. It might actually be at my parents' house. My mom told me I had a package the other day and I hadn't ordered anything recently.

LOL... I was freaking out the other day when I saw a charge on my credit card from "NOA*PARTS DIV5." I had absolutely no clue who was billing me as it's been months since I placed the order and never bought from Nintendo direct before. I thought it was a fraudulent charge at first. Then I checked my e-mail and realized it was just Nintendo.

Have had a great time playing this so far. Around 17 hours in (level 24) and doing a lot of Quests. Classic Controller FTW.

This is an mmorpg correct. Other people you meet in the game are actual players who you can quest with. If so, yeah, I'm buying this asap!

No, this is actually a single-player Japanese style RPG. Though it should be noted that the in-game world is so massive it's MMORPG sized. Either way it's widely regarded as one of the greatest RPG's of this console generation, if not the best.

Yeah *massive* game world for sure! You'll be in areas where there are level 70, 80, 90 enemies (even 10 hours-in) that destroy you in 1-hit (and you don't damage them at all). Some are passive and just roam the plains, but others attack you on sight.

The "unique" slightly stronger 'leader' enemies (usually Monster Challenge quests) can also wipe you out even if they are around your level.

For whatever reason... I purchased the game today from gamestop. Purchased the controller too. Cost me about 70 something.

I really didn't NEED to spend the money considering I have a huge backlog of games but everybody talking about this being a limited release, I'd be ticked off if I missed my chance picking it up.

The game looks amazing though. Really cool stuff.

I don't get the limited release either. Xenoblade Chronicles has seem very impressive pre-order numbers in spite of only GameStop and NOA selling it. It could have done even better with a wide release.

Thankfully the other major Wii RPG finally announced for U.S. release - The Last Story is getting a wide release.

Mine just arrived yesterday after shipping on 4/7. Probably because it shipped from Washington and I live in Florida, plus easter last weekend.
