Default The Tower

The Tower Blu-ray PRE-ORDER

NEWS/TRAILER
https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=10904

Quote:
Inception Media Group will release on Blu-ray Korean director Kim Ji-hoon's blockbuster The Tower (2012), a CJ Entertainment production, starring Kim Sang-kyung (Memories of Murder), Sol Kyung-gu (Tidal Wave), Son Ye-jin (April Snow), Kim In-kwon (Haunters), and Do Ji-han (My Way). The preliminary release date set by the studio is July 2.

Lee Dae-ho is a single father and manager of the 120 story luxurious landmark building Tower Sky in Seoul. His life changes dramatically when the owner of the building, Mr. Jo, decides to hold a "White Christmas" party for tenants and VIPs on Christmas Day, with helicopters circling above, sprinkling snow over the party.

I love my Blu-ray of The Towering Inferno, and this Korean update might sit well next to it in my collection.

I'll certainly take a closer look at this.

The specs list the running time at 100 minutes but the movie ran theatrically at 121 minutes, please don't tell me they are cutting 21 minutes out of this great action/disaster film.

I wouldn't be surprised if the US disc was cut. Seem to happen alot with asian movies these days.

This was actually some incorrect info submitted by a French distributor.

The U.S. release currently has the 121 minutes running time.

The entry has been corrected

Is this title actually coming to Blu-ray? I checked Amazon and it's not up for pre-order, nor on any of the other online stores. The DVD is still available for July 9th.

Looks like the US release has been delayed or canceled, it was once listed on the distributor"s site (Inception Media) with a UPC code 851339-004203 but no longer there just the dvd is listed. I ordered the Korean release and it says it has been shipped, its suppose to be region A with English subtitles and lots of extras but sure the extras wont be subtitled.

I have it on reliable authority from the relevant executive at Inception Media that, after a short delay, The Tower will indeed be coming to Blu-ray. They expect to announce it in another month or so.

It's not clear whether it will be announced as a release by Inception or by CJ Entertainment. Masquerade, which doesn't have the Inception logo anywhere on it, is actually distributed by Inception under license from CJ.

What's the latest on this release? I just rewatched it on DVD last night, fantastic movie, but I'm dying to see it in HD. I'm in the UK so will have to import anyway.
