Australia Jacques Tati: The Restored Collection (Madman) - July 9th 2014

http://www.madman.com.au/catalogue/v...ray&labelId=62

All 6 Tati features and 7 shorts on blu-ray! This is the most impressive Madman project for quite a while. Needless to say, a must-buy. Thoughts?

Is this only sold as a set or are they selling the main films separately as well?

Hmm, not sure yet. They had a dvd set of four of his films - Jour de fete, Monsieur Hulot's Holiday, Mon Oncle and Playtime - that you could buy as separate releases or together, but this one I'm getting the hunch maybe not - especially with the shorts and the later couple films. Though I wouldn't be surprise if the first four maybe are… I guess we'll know more in the coming months.

Resurrecting an old thread, sorry, but wondering if anyone can give some information on this set.

I'm contemplating grabbing this tonight from the JB 20%-off sale online, but I just can't find any info on its contents compared to the UK and US releases. (The Madman website says almost nothing.) The two O/S releases are listed as having 7x 50GB BDs; the Aussie one is listed as 7 BDs + 1 DVD (unless it's an error). Do we somehow have more in the set, or is it the same content arranged differently? (As in, perhaps, the short films, which have their own BD overseas, are in SD here and on a DVD?)

Any feedback would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

It's the Studio Canal release with an extra documentary disc.

Thanks for the reply! :-)

Sorry to ask (should have thought of this before) -- is it in slimline cases, like the SC one in the UK, or the standard thicker amarays we get in Aust. ?

The couple I've seen in store were in the slimline cases.

Bugger. Ah well. I took the plunge anyway.

(I already have the four BFI blu-rays, but got seduced by the extras in this set, and the presence of Trafic and a fully-restored Jour de Fete. I suspect I may regret it, since the captures I've seen look very tealified, something very much not to my liking, but it's done now.)
