Default That Time?

Could it be time to say goodbye to my beloved Kuro after four years? With all the recent talk of the Panasonics dwindling in supply and being on sale, on a whim I went into my local Best Buy to take a look. VTs and ZTs are on sale right now for what is probably a steal. My Kuro is 50" so I would probably go with a VT60, as I sit about 8 feet away.

My Kuro is just starting to develop a noticeable buzz during very quiet scenes. My concern is that once the Panasonics disappear that's going to be it until the OLEDs come out of the pricing statosphere. If my Kuro decides to break in a year or two I might be out of luck.

So is it really the last chopper out of Saigon and I ought to get on it?

Oh I didn't mean to say I'd be ditching the Kuro completely. It just would be placed in retirement mode.

Awesome!!

I just got a VT60 about 3 weeks ago and it's phenomenal. Judging by CES, I think it may still be king this year too.

Just placed my order on a 60 inch VT60 from Brandsmart USA. They're running an even better deal on the Panasonics than Best Buy is right now. I went back and forth for quite awhile between the 60 and 65 inch models, but I just couldn't justify the $600 difference. That savings is probably going to go to D-Nice for a cal of the Panasonic and maybe a touch up for the Kuro too!

Apparently I was just in time because these panels are now sold out.

Keeping my Kuro 60", though. It only shows Blu-Rays.

Cancelled the 60 and just ordered a 65 from Amazon, who dropped their price.

It's at times like this I'm glad I don't have a significant other or I might have some 'splainin' to do.
