Australia Movies missing their special features!

So I am sick to death of buying films and taking them home only to realise they've removed all the special features for the Australian release.

Why would they do this? Take Sunset Boulevard for instance, wouldn't it cost Paramount more to take off the features for international releases than just give us the same content?

I wanted this thread to be somewhere you can ask questions and hopefully someone who has bought the release can answer them!

I think this should stick to films that have the same distributor in both Aus and overseas such as: Paramount, Warner Bros, Universal etc.

I know Paramount ,for one, are notorious for ridding their releases of features.

So first question: is the assumption that Sunset Boulevard is missing the extensive features from the US release, accurate?

How coincidental because i just watched Sunset Boulevard today and it did have the extras, not sure if any have been missing. But i'm pretty sure it has it all.

You know that certain distributors don't have the access to features made by other companies without permission but I totally agree with you when it is a big company that owns the rights. It is simply uncalled for and completely unfair.

They want to keep the money in Australia then the least they can do is give us the same disc. Who knows, maybe they are doing all they can in some situations? I really hate not being able to walk in to JB HIFI and worry about OAR, A/V and features compared to international releases. The sad fact is I do and it is frustrating. I buy from the US almost all of time time now because of this fact and because they have no ratings logos all over the artwork, but I could let the latter go if I was certain to be getting the same disc
