Australia The 2013 Aussie/Kiwi 'Post Your Black Friday Haul' thread!

So folks, Black Friday sales have come and gone and Cyber Monday's just about sorted. Now that the bank accounts have been drained and the credit cards (if you've got one) have been maxed out it's time to post your haul. Yes, some of you will have to acknowledge what you've spent rather than living in denial. Hey, it's good to face up to things.

Here's my pretty staggering but mostly planned haul. Although there are quite a few blind buys most were in my wishlist and only a few were impulse buys based on the combination of my interest and the price. Very happy with the prices and extremely happy to have scored some titles I've wanted to check out and/or buy for a long time.

Movies:

Terminator
Stand Off
Margaret
French Connection
Dark Skies
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
WarGames
Maniac
Lords of Salem
Now You See Me
21 Jump Street
Say Anything…
World War Z
Bourne Legacy
Sinister
Se7en/Copycat/Taking Lives
RoboCop
Upside Down 3D
MacGruber
After Earth
Thor: The Dark World 3D
R.I.P.D.
Turbo
Snitch
Machete Kills
RoboCop
Insidious Chapter 2
Hollow Man/Hollow Man 2
Mental
True Romance
Little Mermaid
Epic

TOTAL including shipping: US$409.53 - AU$447.87

35 titles. Price per title: AU$12.79. Very nice considering Thor: The Dark World 3D, Insidious 2 and Machete Kills are full priced pre-orders. Taking their AU$97 out in makes it AU$10.96 a title. I've also got two orders for RoboCop remastered in there as there are two Amazon listings. Once we find out what the difference is I'll decide what I keep.

Television Seasons:

Justified: Season Three
Arrow: Season 1
Spartacus: War of the Damned
Hannibal Season 1
Boardwalk Empire: Season 3

TOTAL including shipping: US$83.82 - AU$91.63

5 seasons. Price per season: AU$18.33. Absolute bargain. JB's price for all of the above WITH their 20% off (and missing additional DVD copies and digital copies in a lot of them): $156.70. Saved $65.07 on JB prices or 41.5% off.

Definitely a big spend but I'm very happy with the buys and they're great prices all round.

Great pickups there Adam!

I only ended up with Pacific Rim 3D and World War Z from the sales, have bought a few things locally lately though.

I didn't purchase any this year. I've got some in my cart ready to go, that haven't increased in price as of yet, but I don't think I'll bother submitting the order. I've bought quite a few lately that I still haven't watched, partly due to my main setup being out of action while waiting for the new tv to be wall mounted (which is happening next Monday), I don't really want to add much more to that list and have hundreds sitting there unwatched.

I didn't buy anything either. A couple of $5 films I'd like, but weren't necessarily must buys. Too many new releases lately, and buying a home theatre for the first time last week have set me back!

I got a bit of a haul. I bought myself a gift card a month or so back when the dollar was about 98c with the intention of using it for BF deals. I gave myself a budget of $250 and still haven't used the whole thing.

- Jack the Giant Slayer
- White House Down
- The To-Do List
- Monster's University
- Snitch
- Pee-wee's Big Adventure
- Blue Valentine
- 42
- Lars and the Real Girl
- Halloween (35th Anniversary)
- Fargo
- Now You See Me
- Dances with Wolves
- G.I. Joe Retaliation
- Cloud Atlas

Also ventured over to Ammy UK to grab the Universal Monsters Essential Collection.

I ended up making a small order after all, from the UK though:

Compliance
The Addams Family (it's a shame about the DNR)
Matilda
Roadkill

Wow how'd you get it that cheap with shipping?
If you chose the cheapest shipping option (which I always do) be prepared to wait a while for your items. They'll get to you, but it could take as long as a month.

I live in Melbourne and Amazon UK arrives in 1 week - even for box sets.

Amazon US, which is closer to Australia always takes 2-3 weeks for me and I order a lot from them. They have even 'shipped' a 2nd order days after a previous order was 'shipped', and it arrived almost a week before the 1st one. Always in perfect condition though.

Cause the version in your own backyard is superior for AQ, as is the UK version, which is identical to ours .
