Default The World According to Jeff Goldblum

Through the prism of Jeff Goldblum’s always inquisitive and highly entertaining mind, nothing is as it seems in this new series. Each episode is centered around something we all love—like sneakers or ice cream—as Jeff pulls the thread on these deceptively familiar objects and unravels a wonderful world of astonishing connections, fascinating science and history, amazing people, and a whole lot of surprising big ideas and insights.

I originally said I was only interested in The Mandalorian and Falcon & Winter Soldier from Disney+, but now I'm adding this Jeff Goldblum show to the list as a must-see.

Each episode will be stretched from a half-hour to a full hour to accommodate Goldblum's delivery style.

This is interesting. Jeff's such a low-key knowledgeable, cultured person.

He was at my county fair filming the Destruction Derby this year, must be for this show. Lots of pics of him sitting in the stands and walking the midway on social media a month or so ago.

edit: ^ Hah, never heard a Destruction Derby officiando called cultured before

Here's hoping he talks about his classic Disney film, Powder! Would love to hear some titbits about that production, there's little out there for some reason.

This guy could make a show where he's reading a phone book and it would still be entertaining.

I don't think Disney wants to acknowledge that production in 2019.

This style of show isn’t for everyone. Jeff Goldblum isn’t for everyone. But if you like either or both, then you’ll love this show. I can’t wait for the next episode!

Goldblum makes for a solid host but....

1) I get the feeling that some of the segments are paid for by corporate sponsors (ex. the whole ADIDAS research lab bit) which turns me off.

2) There's countless cable shows on television with the same format. (Especially in the food/cooking related sphere, which should make episodes like next week's "Ice Cream" feel especially redundant.)

3) I still don't give a shit about sneakers?

I like sneakers, learned nothing new about them from the show, and still thoroughly enjoyed it. Goldblum is a force of nature, and that's the reason to watch him explore subjects.

I love the guy but could not even finish the first episode... I love sneakers but this wasn't good at all... The segments were just off and seemed forced...

For those of you who weren’t into the sneaker ep., the ice cream one is better. Give it another shot.

When did this guy decide to become a second Bill Murray (only more stoned)? Don't get me wrong, I love him and love this show, but I try to figure out when did it all start xD

Yes. Skipped the sneakers episode after 5 minutes. Episode two was great.

My wife is a big fan of Jeff so we will be watching more. She made these mosaics with Lego.

Jeff is watching us watching him.
