I'm wondering if it's 2 discs, or if they put both a single disc? |

For people who are interested in city of men, but haven't seen it yet, you should probably pick up the city of men brazilian tv series first, which is just available on dvd. Ths film is a continuation of that series, not a sequel or anything to city of god.

Another Redford gem on blu? -- yes please! Loved this quiet, poignant, and beautifully-shot (in my Alberta/BC backyard) flick. Day One

City of God/City of Men is now on Amazon for the same price at WM (9.96). The db lists it as 2 discs, but Amazon says it's single disc. That's a total runtime of 236 minutes, or about 4 hours. That's doable without compromising PQ, but I wonder if the hour long documentary will also be on the disc too,, and whether City of Men will have any extras too? This feels a lot like an Echno Bridge release, but hopefully Amazon is wrong and it is indeed 2 separate discs.

^ I'd really like to know that too! I've been asking around since release day, but I guess nobody's bought it yet and I haven't seen one in a B&M...
Conflicting info on the web. One place says it's 2 discs, with the City of God disc being the existing 50GB one, and the City of Men disc being a 25GB (it was 50GB for region B) with no real extras. I can't tell if they've actually seen it. Most places are saying it's a single 50GB, and the original press release doesn't specify. I suppose a single 50GB with no extras wouldn't look too bad for these particular films. However, I would not like having to re-buy an "inferior" transfer of CoG to get a (presumably, slightly) inferior version of CoM (compared to what's available). IOW, if both are on a single disc, they're kinda "forcing" enthusiasts to keep their existing 50GB CoG along with the new one. |
