Default Cars = Reference?

For those of you who have purchased 'Cars' on Blu-ray and have had the utter pleasure of experiencing its pure glory, I ask you...

Will you be using 'Cars' as your primary reference disc for all future showings to non Hi-Def supporters? SEE POST ABOVE

I personally feel you need a live action film for reference, animation does not count because it looks good anyways.

I'd have to agree. Live-Action is far more challenging that clear pure digital 3-D, and more representative of the 98% of films that aren't animation.

You have to get over that Saturday morning cartoon mentality. Even the weakest of CGI movies have detail you never see in a live footage movie. Blu-ray most certainly makes a difference.

Trust me. The PQ will boggle your mind! Especially the environments around the car characters. The race track scenes give the illusion that will make you question the 100% CGI nature of the production. You will think that they photographed real race tracks and superimposed the CGI.

If that's the case, just import it. That's what I did for 'The Island'.

I got my copy of 'The Island' from Sendit.com. But, because it's a site that deals in GBP currency (British Pound), it cost me nearly $50! It was worth every penny though. PQ (especially the colours) are incredible!!!

P.S. Don't worry about hijacking the thread. Whatever keeps it on the "latest posts" list on the main page is good with me. More people likely to vote that way.

P.S.S. WICKED PIC POST!!! See above (#17) for a reference pic of 'Cars' in Hi-Def!!!

I was very surprised at the PQ. I think this is the best title I've seen yet as far as detail and sharpness go. I haven't seen the rat yet but this one is really amazing.

We got our new TV yesterday and that was the first Blu I played in the Sony BDP-300, talk about amazing PQ. Since then, as a result of a 4 year old lil boy I have seen it 3 times. I picked stuff up everytime I watched it.

I will use it as one of them. Since I like to do PQ/AQ. And the Dave Matthews is the best AQ so far w/o a doubt since it is 96/24.
