Yet there are some who refuse to credit such ideal.

Because "Sony don't give FREE games, they offer rent! MS more generous!"

Completely ignoring the fact that the games are attach to ones account, with or without Plus. Of course one cannot play unless one is subscribed, but the games will always be there. Re-subscribe shouldn't be a problem if one has to be a Plus member to game online for the most part now anyway.

Then again, as you so famously often said, "Internet".

Anyway, this is a good thing indeed on MS part.

This is great, but what current Live games will work on the XB1?

Will they make COD Ghosts or some other brand new game free because there is no backwards compatibility???

Still, it is a big plus.

I believe Major Nelson is referring to Xbox One titles that will be given free.

Of course I could be wrong. But if they're giving free games to Gold members for Xbox One, it would only make sense that the games are for Xbox Ones.

I know it's for XB1, but if the XB1 is not backward compatible what on Live would possibly work? And there is a limited library, so will everyone get a next gen $60 game...one of the 8 or so you can choose from on release?

Ahhh...OK. I missed the 2014 part, I thought it was an at launch thing.

That makes a lot more sense. And, I bet Ryse will be one.

Has anybody heard any rumors about when Games with Gold will arrive on Xbox One? The month it finally does what do you think the first 2 games will be? I would guess whatever the highest selling Microsoft studios game was during the One's release and some arcade/indie game...

I'm sure that they're trying to build up a stable of their indie games to offer up before they kick that program in. Sony had an advantage there at launch, as they already had some indies ready to go that they could offer up for free.

There are still launch games in frame when you go to the games section of the store. They need to get some games before they start giving them away free. Plus with how it is has worked on 360 they don't exactly offer the newest of games. Maybe they will offer Forza 5 in four years to launch the program on Xbone.
