Germany Europa Report 3D Blu-ray (2013) [Region B Locked] [autoconversion]

I wonder why it's being released in Germany and not the states

What it shot in 3d? If not, was the conversion any good when shown in theaters?

Thanks,
Tom

It's a standard German territory specific conversion post-job like Total Recall, Sharknado, etc. The film was never 3D to begin with.

So, should one just buy the 2d? I have a big Amazon Germany order I'll be placing for import.

Thanks,
Tom

Up to you, but if you are considering the 3D version, I would wait to see it there is any feedback about it.

The German post-conversions are always terrible from what I've seen of them. I mean not just bad - absolutely terrible. They're nothing even approaching what we see in the US for conversions.

I'll take a HUGE pass on it then. Thanks for saving me from a big mistake.

I'm importing a bunch of BD's from Amazon Germany. My niece loves 3d animation and is begging me to pick four up for her.

Adventures in Zambezia 3d
Jock the Hero Dog 3d
Alpha and Omega 3d
Once Upon a Time in the West Cinderella 3d

and one for myself Battle for Terra 3d

Are any of these titles German conversions? I think the first three are fine but not to confident about Cinderella and Terra.

I know there pretty poor films but she wants them in 3d. She's a seven year old 3d lover. I wouldn't mike checking them out myself.

Thanks,
Tom

I've been thinking of this disc however if I were to purchase it, would probably just buy the 2D version and do my own 3D simulation.

It wasn't that terrible 3D but very weak and only really did something in very few scenes. Wasn't really sure if it was autoconverted or not, but you can watch this in 2D without missing out. The film itself was quite decent.

I still tinker with LG's 2D to 3D feature; on subtle settings and with the right kind of visual elements--obvious, more brightly lit foreground subjects, for example--it can deliver surprisingly pleasing 3D. Of course it only occasionally gets exactly what suits the system best...or it brings a host of errors along with, but it's still fun when the odd shot clicks for some "Free 3D."

I actually watched a little of the Yankee game today using simulated 3D. Since I had done other calibrating since last season I was surprised with the enjoyable results
