I know a lot of audiences out there can't get enough of these Minions and the box office proves it. I'll hold off as I'm not a fan myself, but I hope to hear the 3D is great.

Yeah, I don't care for them at all myself. They sound and act idiotic and there is only so much I can take of them carrying a whole movie. Anyway, I'm sure the 3D box office will shine bright.

awesome to hear - got my tix for tomorrow night over at Arclight Bethesda 9:50pm (I'm not expecting a lot of kids at that hour) - 'widescreen' / 3D / Dolby Atmos - woohoo!!

I really liked the movie too. It's delightful nonsense of the best kind with a fantastic attention to 1960's period detail and great sight gags and sly in-jokes. The 3d is amazing and the popouts are plentiful and jawdropping (stay all the way at the end of the credits that has a random song and dance number with tons of popouts!). Illumination Entertainment truly loves 3D (and popouts too thank God!) and continues to put out some of the best 3d in the business. Can't wait for Despicable Me 3!

This was a good movie and looked like it could have benefitted from 3D based on the 2D showing I saw, but I have to say I missed the girls, Gru, and Lucy (Kristen Wiig) from Despicable Me 2. If they continue the franchise I hope it's with all the original characters and not just the minions.

Nice to hear the 3D is getting positive reviews. Is this from Dreamworks? I forget who makes Minions. Okay, Universal.

Yeah, the Minions definitely have a lot of fans and some friends of mine as well like them, but I still have trouble seeing the comedy in their antics and gibberish, and I'm a fan of The Three Stooges, Leslie Nielsen of the Naked Gun movies, Vacation, etc.

But if they found an audience that appreciates them, that's what matters.

Love the Minions. I went to a Cinemark XD 3D screening of this film and absolutely loved it. The 3D is great with lots of fun pop-outs and plenty of depth. Will make sure to buy the 3D bluray once it is released.

Yeah, hopefully Universal, who didn't release Seventh Son 3D in the US, will reconsider with the big hit Minions 3D on blu ray 3D.

I'm sure it will get released. I think the only reason seventh son didn't get a 3d bluray release is becuase the film tanked and had already lost a ton of money from the delays and studio transitions.

Saw it in 2D. I loved the movie. Will definitely buy the 3D bluray when released.

Some of the youtube reviewers were b****ing about the minions speaking jibberish and all the non stop gags. Well, duh, it's a minions movie, you should know what you're getting yourself into! Despite the nitpicking of some reviewers this is a solid movie with lots of humor and charm. The 3d is also very good with plenty of great depth and some good pop-outs.

That's true, the gibberish is what makes the minions who they are. I saw a "news report" that said some parents wanted to ban the Kid's Meal Toys of the Minions from McDonalds because they feel the toys are cursing at times.

Would you say the 3D was mostly medium or strong 3D? Or a mix?
