We got several Walmart Promo Blus on black friday and when we went to play them some of them came up as unknown and would not play. Two of them did play the other three did not using a Sony bdp-s360. Anyone else have this issue and correct it by changing a setting or something.

The Walmart (Promo) Blus & DVDs are the same as any store has it seems some think since Walmart sells them they are inferior or bootleg or something!
The only thing "Promo" about them is the stickers to denote they are part of the Black Friday sales! You might need to update your Blu-ray player's firmware! Last edited by ChiefSequatchie; 12-26-2013 at 06:19 PM. |

Cuz FOX sucks and keeps changing their BD disc and one of my players wont play them even tho I update it to latest Firmware
What he said and if that doesnt work you are SOL. Its not really defective disc but because fox keeps changing you need the latest updates. I try to avoid most fox bd's. Example I can play homeland season 1 but not season 2 . ect... |

Yes, make sure you have latest FW.
If possible, try on a different BD player "Some BD players requre that a USB memory device is inserted in the EXT slot of the player prior to playing the movie. It's recommended to use at least 1GB. If you already are using one and run into a disc not playing, try removing the USB device and plugging it back in. Here's a few more things you can try. 1. Reset the BD Player: Remove the disc from the BD player. Turn off the BD player. Unplug the power cord of the BD player from the electrical outlet. Let the player remain without power for one minute. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. Turn on the BD player. Insert the disc into the BD player 2. Make sure that the Parental Control settings are not set to "On". 3. If the BD player supports the BD-Live feature, set the BD Internet Connection setting to "Do Not Allow" and delete any conflicting BD-Live date from the BD/DVD Viewing Settings menu" http://community.sony.com/t5/Blu-Ray...yer/td-p/99903 If all the above fails & these discs still do not play, test other BDs from your collection that you have previously played. Test many of them. Just load & as soon as it starts to play, eject & load a different BD. If you find another BD that will not load/play & you know it previously played on your player, the issue is with your player. |
