Love this movie!! It was released on HD early on, but where's the U.S. blu-ray release, and why can't I find any threads on this great movie??

Love this quote: "Breakfasts come and go, Rene, but Hartford, "the Whale," they only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime."

Here's another one I've used: "That kid is *back*... on the escalator again!"

Mallrats is now the ONLY Kevin Smith feature film that hasn't seen a US Blu-ray Disc release. Universal? Hello?

Why do I get the idea that Kevin Smith is holding this one back (seeing how much he hates the film)? Sure he had mellowed out on it some (back in 2005) but now that he is the annoying, egocentric reality TV star who always wears the same hockey sweater today, he's probably turned venomous on the film again.

He has stated a number of times on smodcast that he doesn't own the rights to the movie and its not up to him. He has even told fans who they need to contact to voice their opinions and that he would love to revisit it for an anniversary/special edition blu ray. He did just that recently for an uncut Jersey Girl that will be coming out on blu ray.

Yeah, who would've guessed Jersey Girl would beat Mallrats to BD?

Guess that didn't happen, huh? It's funny though, because the BD has literally been released everywhere else on the planet except the US!

I would love for Lionsgate to release an Askewniverse set. They already have Clerks, Amy, and Strike Back. Sony will license Dogma to them. Universal and Weinstein Company have both given them rights for a set (Death Proof/Inglorious Basterds in Tarantino XX). Maybe put the animated series on as a set exclusive. I'm sure Smith would have no problem giving them Super Groovy Cartoon movie. Have it out in time for Clerks 3.

But this can only happen if Mallrats gets a release.
