From what has been uncovered in the Echo Bridge Miramax thread it looks like they have.

Echo Bridge has indeed lost the distribution rights. Lionsgate always had the digital distribution license for all the Miramax films and rumors are, they now have the physical distribution rights for all as well.

If they made a temporary deal with Miramax, they'll release them. Just like the current ones they have.

Lionsgate hits some pretty cheap pricepoints as well for their single releases. Almost as cheap for each UPC, it's just that Echo Bridge tends to cram 2,3,4 or more random movies into a single UPC.

Of course, it's a big assumption that Lionsgate will put out much of anything that had previously belonged to Echo Bridge.

Lionsgate is sitting on plenty of Miramax titles already, no idea what will get re-issued through them and I'm sure not all of the EB offerings will be out again. That's why I've been picking up the EB BD's I waited for price drops on, even if some are a bit more than I could've scored em for a couple months ago. No guarantee any of those titles will be re-issued, and for some lesser known titles, it almost feels like a guarantee they won't be coming back.

I'm hoping for the best along with everyone else, I'm just buying some cheap insurance polices in case the worst comes.

Echo bridge is the worst. "Hey, you only have a VHS master for that? Well, let's get it to Blu! 5.1 audio? Who wants that shit? 2 channel it is!"

...oh crap, this means Godzilla vs. Biolante is now OOS. I doubt we'll get the same singular edition under the Lionsgate brand.

As does K-Mart for the same price, and with the first run covers with 4 square mini-covers, while Target has the re-issue ones with 5 rectangles on front. I'm in the process of getting the cover I want so I have both for this morning, but the new one is going back today. Here's what I'm talking about:

This is one of the easiest sets to find and the only one I still see in most stores still. The Jackie Chan packs are still around too, as is the Prophecy 4 pack (but not the 5-pack), most everything else is gone (BB sent back the whole sale rack Sunday). Target also has Godzilla vs Biollante, but only the 3-pack with dubbed audio and no features.

Oh yeah, if anyone thinks there might be a difference besides cover art for these, the UPCs are identical as is all the text on the side and back, just different color backgrounds.

To be fair, Halloween 8: Resurrection already has a decent release. Dimension's 2002 DVD is 2.35:1 anamorphic and is pretty stacked with extras. Echo Bridge's solo BD is 2.35:1 OAR 1080p and I think it contains all extras from the 2002 DVD. Even the Canadian Triple Feature BD has the film in 2.35:1 1080p, although the extras weren't carried over. I think Echo Bridge's solo DVD is the same as Dimension's 2002 DVD.

We DO need decent releases of Halloween 6 and 7 though... Those films have always gotten shitty treatment on home video. The only two Halloween films that have never received a Special Edition.

I hope Lionsgate does the right thing and do some special editions to some of those movies that Echo Bridge lost.

Maybe even a Hellraiser III unrated special edition.
