Ever since I've had my tv, there's been a constant flickering the whole time. It gets incredibly distracting during dark scenes as you notice it more. It's not from the blu ray player or sky box, it's the tv. When I don't have a cable connected and the screen is just black, the fuzzy flickering is still there. Is my tv just broke or is there a way to fix it?
Apologies for the photos. Taken with my Phone. http://i.imgur.com/sWmGp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9fakD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/npX5q.jpg Thanks in advance |

Your situation is just a something that i encountered also with one of my tv's but the fault was to the cable company and the lack of ground in the line even when my cable box was shut down ( it was really annoying ) i bought a powerbar and solved the problem . But you should exclude other things like HDMI handshake , bad cable etc . You should try to eliminate them with small test's , like changing cables , trying other outlet .. Are you in the UK ? sorry about that you guys over there call it earth = Ground , my bad . |

I agree that it looks like dithering sparkles especially on the last photo. Have you tried to turn down the brightness setting? I'd turn it down and check other settings that have to do with brightness and contrast and maybe reset the tv.
Also maybe you should try something like a good photo from an SD card using the photo viewer. With that inserted and photo viewer up and running you can change picture settings to see if there's a change. |

There was another thread like this opened last week I think, in the LCD tv section, where the OP was experiencing a similar problem. Here's a link to the thread below. Read through it because the issue was solved, and might help you with your issue.

The question I have is if this was occurring from when you bought the tv why didnt you return or exchange it. Why did you hold on to it.

I also have this TV, check my gallery, and I had the same problem and I fixed it easily.
What is happening is that air and sun light is getting inside the TV from the back, usually it's a from a window or air conditioner. Make sure no air is coming in through the back of the TV. It worked for me. |

Bright light was coming in from the window along with air and entering into the back of the TV, I closed the window and covered it with a dark curtain, and those little annoying things on the screen disappeared. That's why on my pic you can see an ugly blanket covering the window, heh.
Make sure no strong light or air is hitting the back of your TV. Hope this helps. |

I just noticed this threat but this is likely just plasma dithering which is completely normal. It can look alot worse depending on your settings. I noticed a good bit of dithering on my ST50 on solid black screens. Bumping the brightness down a notch or two got rid of most of the dithering. Try reducing brightness and see how it changes. Also try googling "plasma dithering".
