Default Despicable Me stuttering, bought from Target last month. Return possible?

I just popped in the Despicable Me blu-ray into my recently bought Sony blu-ray player and it takes forever to load even with internet access turned off. Once I get it to play it stuttered every once in a while, so I turned off the 24fps feature on the player and the stuttering still occurs.

I bought it from Target on Dec. 12th. Will they accept a return now?

Do you still have the receipt or paid by CC? If yes, they will do an exchange.

Still have the receipt.

By chance I tried other discs, even dvds, and had the same problem.

So I did a reset and also left it on for about an hour to get rid of any possible condensation and tried playing the Sherlock blu-ray and so far no stuttering.
