Default Flixster D2D app now supports Blu-rays

The Flixster D2D app had a mandatory update so I don't know if this is just a coincidence or not but the D2D app now allows you to use Blu-rays for the D2D conversion process. The downside is that SD and HD upgrades are still $2 and $5 respectively but at least it's an option.

Seems like they snuck this capability in at some point.

Thanks. Used it last night and got 5 movies for free (SD). Just wanted to use this and see if their app would read discs that Vudu doesn't. Rust and Bone, Collateral, Smashed, Truman Show (not offered by Vudu) and another movie I can't think of at the moment all read with no probs. Really wish Vudu would switch to Flixsters app.

I hate Flixster -- they are determined to have mandatory linkage between my Flixster account and Facebook account, where "friends" can browse my movie collection. I tried to de-link them, but it keys to the email address and will not let you sign up for an account with that email address (once it learns that email address is associated with a Facebook account).

As a result, I have a mish-mash of separate accounts in order to redeem Flixster-only digital copies.

Yeah, I've heard the same song before. Sorry, but Vudu is superior to Flixster, don't see any point in downgrading into a inferior app.

The only thing inferior about it, compared to the Vudu D2D app, is the price. Otherwise, the Flixster app blows the Vudu app out of the water when it comes to properly recognizing discs. I still have over a 150+ Blu-ray discs that the Vudu app still refuses to recognize after 1 year.

How did you get 5 free? Did they show up in your Vudu account as well?

Still wont load for me on both my laptop and PC. The little blue screen with the tub of popcorn comes up for about 10 seconds and then just vanishes.

Anybody have any suggestions?

have issue's running that on my Dell. Says I have no movies or locks up. Runs fine on the Toshiba. Hoping that since Itunes is now listed. We can list Ultraviolet or Google movies etc Ordered a couple thru vudu B2B for $2 HDX and one isn't available on Flixster yet. But seems less buggy than Flixster which has many of my bought dvds come up as rentals. Or in the case of Young Guns II uh Lightning Jack? o_O

well Flixster uses some Chromium so there's an error somewhere on some computers. they updated it and almost froze the one on Toshiba but hasn't fixed the one on Dell yet

Seems like this isn't really ready for prime time either.

I just tried 4 titles that SHOULD work and only 1 did. However, that 1 wasn't being read as a Blu-ray because I was still told it was $5 to upgrade to HD.\

Also, I was being offered the 5 free conversions as well. Didn't happen.

The five free conversions are only good for the SD digital copy.
