No Gone With the Wind or A Streetcar Named Desire? Not that it matters, since both films have been released already, but releasing a "Vivien Leigh Collection" without them seems rather odd. And I know they're owned by different studios, but still.

What an "outta nowhere" surprise this is!! As long as the transfers are decent I will definitely pick this up. So far the price isn't too bad either, basically $10 a movie. November 19...guess I'll be watching this one.

That Hamilton Woman is one of my favorite Vivian Leigh films, but Criterion may still have it. Here's to one of the most beautiful actresses ever.

Those two are Warner films and WB does not license out. In any event, they have both been available on BD for some time.

They licensed Badlands to Criterion.

WOW!
now this is an amazing surprise for sure.

(from an amazon review of a dvd set of the same films)

"Four of Vivien Leigh's early cinematic efforts, filmed in England during 1937 and 1938. These were crucial years for the actress: in private life she was falling in love with Laurence Olivier while professionally she was beginning to dream of playing the role of Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone With the Wind" (which was already in pre-production in America). This quartet is especially interesting because - in addition to their individual entertainment value - they collectively provide fascinating documentation of Leigh's metamorphosis from a lovely but unsure ingénue into an increasingly radiant and confident star capable of carrying a film on her talented shoulders. They also offer a testament to her versatility; her roles include an historical romance--Fire Over England; a comedy-- Storm in a Teacup; a spy drama--Dark Journey; and a quasi-musical--Sidewalks of London."

.

And that was an exception to the rule. Under the current system, they would never license out two of their flagship titles for another label's box set, and even if they did, the licensing fees would have to be absorbed by the consumer of the box set.

Badlands is a cult film, so Criterion (a cult label) may be able to sell more copies of Badlands than Warner could. More $$$ for Warner if it's released by Criterion.

I saw Fire over England. I can't remmeber it that well, but it wS just okay. Very stuffy from what I recall.

Most, if not all are available on youtube as they're in the public domain.

I used to watch Fire Over England and Caesar & Cleopatra alot.

The other name of Sidewalks of London is St. Martin's Lane. I remember watching it alot too, when I was in my Vivien Leigh obsession.

Warner Bros. also licensed out 'North by NorthWest' to Universal for the Alfred Hitchcock Collection.

But, the Cohen Media Group, are they fairly reputable?

My friend Kendra Bean, author of the forthcoming Vivien Leigh: An Intimate Portrait, an elegant photographic biography, has written the liner notes for this set!
