Default Just an SDS-related question...

Don't Universal and Warner Bros. actually cross-market or cross-promote titles on their physical media releases now because of the SDS joint venture? Like, you know, WB trailers appearing on Universal releases and Universal trailers appearing on WB releases? And not to mention, any promotional ads, booklets, pamphlets, etc. that have titles from both studios?

Not that I am aware of. Just because they have one distribution channel does not mean their home video and promotional departments are singular too.

I know. Doesn't SDS have a marketing department too, collaborating with both studios' HE marketing people? I know you said they both still retain their own departments, but I've been assuming this cross-marketing thing.

There have been shared multi-disc sets and promotional offerings (WM exclusive slipcover series with Uni/WB/MGM). But I haven't seen anything yet like you're describing.

Are there really any sets like that?

No, SDS does not have a marketing department for the studios. They have one for SDS themselve. SDS is a distribution department for the two. Warner and Uni make the discs, provide those to SDS who then handles distribution and marketing. But no cross promotion of Warner titles on Uni discs and vice versa. Because that would mean Warner/Uni having to provide the other with those elements and that costs money.

You own any SDS-distributed titles in your collection and check them out, don't you? No cross-trailering by the studios?

Why is this such an important matter to you? You've already been provided ample answers to your queries, yet you keep asking for more, and I'm not sure I understand why.

Because it's something I've been thinking about ever since the venture was announced in 2020.
