Default Justice League Unlimited

Ok, just wanted to get some opinions of the people who watch the series. I just saw the first 3 episodes of Justice League, from season 1, Secret Origins.

I was wondering if the Unlimited Series is as good as JL...any opinions?

I own the JL and JLU complete seasons on DVD and I must say, the JLU stuff is GREAT. There is a great sub-plot that weaves through the entire run that will really amaze you, and of course the voice acting is top-notch. I cannot recommend these highly enough, and would LOVE them all on Blu. (Can you HEAR ME, Warner???)

Cool, so far the JL story line is pretty good. Good to know that they follow the Unlimited series with same as or better quality.

Did you see the Justice League New Frontier Movie?

The last fight Superman had with Darkseid (I think that's how you spell it), anyway, that fight was FANTASTIC. I wish they could turn that action sequence into a movie. Perhaps in Superman 2 lol.

Seriously, JLU is great. I recommend it.

Yup. I am pretty much a sucker for all things Justice League. Pre-ordered New Frontier. Plus I own a TON of JL hardcover graphic novels.

JL Unlimited is better than the JL series. The first season of JL at times felt kind of stiff, like the writers were figuring out how to have the characters interact. The show just gets better and better as the series progresses.

Justice League and JLU are both top notch. I have all the seasons and they are among the very few remaining DVDs I own (along with LotR, Firefly and Serenity). I would LOVE to replace them with Blu-ray versions, but that is not likely for quite some time.

I not only have all the seasons of JL and JLU, but also Batman: The Animated Series Volumes 1 - 4, Superman series, and Batman Beyond, all on DVD.

I want Batman: Secret of the Phantasm on Blu. That is a great movie as well.

What is really great, it that the JL and JLU series mention things as far back at the BTAS DVDs. Bruce Timm is the man with DC animated projects. Pretty much anything that he has been involved with has succeeded.

These are the most highly recommended DVDs that I have. I can't recommend these more.

Yeah, I've got the Batman and Superman Animated series, just branched out to JL and now it seems I'll dig JLU. Good news, just need to wait for a sale.

I'd like Phantasm on Blu-ray too, but will settle for the dvd copy

I've got pretty much all the modern DC cartoons on DVD, and LOVE them. They're so fun to watch on those rainy, lazy days. All the Superman Animated Series, Batman: TAS (all 4 seasons and all "movies"), the new The Batman series (which I really enjoy), and, of course, The Justice League. I'd love these on Blu, since some of the DVD encodes are kinda bad... a lot of picture noise and some color issues. But overall, a great collection of animated work. I think the only thing I don't have is the futuristic Batman series because I never liked it.

I picked up batman beyond last year and thought it was good, at least season 1. I haven't watched the next 2 seasons. I'd like to watch the newer one, The Batman, haven't yet. Things just get too busy and I hardly ever have time anymore. Yeah, some of the coloring on the older cartoons is off and you do see some picture imperfections but this doesn't bother me for older cartoons. Now for newer stuff, gotta have clean picture etc...My expectations are alot higher.

I'm honestly surprised this thread is in this section considering it's not for a theatrical release. Also, strong 5 year bump

The reason though to answer your question is likely it hasn't been mastered for HD and because of that will never end up on Blu-ray. So DVD is your best bet, which to be fair, for animated movies of that type, having them upscaled does a pretty good job.

But a bluray box set would be nice even as unconverted. One of my DVDs from season 1skips so just having this masterpiece series on unskippable bluray would make me happy.

I think your DVD has an issue on how it was mastered.

On that note. OMG! De ja vu

USA Justice League Unlimited on Blu-ray

They are available in 1080p hi-def in the U.S. iTunes store (along with Dolby Digital 5.1--just like the Justice League "original" series is on Blu-ray). They are also available on Blu-ray (individual seasons or the complete "Unlimited" series) as a VOD from the Warner Bros. shop and Amazon, among others.

The first season of Unlimited is rough because you can tell the writers were getting use to the new format. That and it relies heavily on "Characters of the Day." Season two of Unlimited is, in my opinion, the best writing of the entire series.

I agree, but I did think the second season of Justice League was great.

I'd probably rank them:

Season 2 JLU > Season 2 JL > Season 3 JLU > Season 1 JLU > Season 1 JL
