If anything it might be still in stock when a new code comes available and you can cancel and pre-order. Why risk it selling out otherwise

I was thinking about cancelling my most recent order that had 2 steels and reordering, but I read that the June code was no longer working.

They finally released a steelbook for this movie! YES!!! This was one of my dream steelbooks to finally become a reality. I hope it's region free.

Anyways, don't know much about the distributor, does anybody know if this will be region free?

This will be region B locked.

Seven Samurai is one of my favorite movies ever, and one of the greatest films ever made, but I can't say that I'm really in love with the artwork here. The Japapnese "Rising Sun" in the background of the silhouette isn't really fitting of the movie. It's almost like it's made from someone who hasn'te even seen the movie, and just found a popular poster of the group of Seven, and knows that it's a Japanese movie.

I think a much more iconic and aesthetically pleasing Steel would feature the banner for the Seven Samurai across the front.

BFI is one of Britain's best BD companies; unfortunately, Japanese studios usually insist on region locking so this will probably be B, as the Criterion is already locked to A.

Cool, thanks for answering. I guess I'll probably pick up the criterion at some point. It's just nice that there's a steelbook of it now. I agree with Mifunefan about the cover.

I hope Japan comes out with some ultimate release at some point or even their own steelbook. Nice to know that it would be Region A.

They picked the wrong artwork for this and if it's Region B locked that just makes it less appealing to me. I wish they'd gone with the black version of the artwork with katakana in the sun graphic.

That or like I suggested on HDN, something riffing off their flag or the graves. Something that was original for such a great film. But hey, what do I know?

really not liking the artwork and the silver. just reminds of seven psychopaths zavvi exclusive which just looks cheap. the only time silver looks good if its done like the raid steelbook which looks awesome. its gotta be really shiny not dull

great news the uk is finally get the blu ray though, ive been holding off buying the american version due to region locking
