Name of this movie?

Hey dudes, trying to find this film. Saw it ages ago, so my description may be a little off.

It's about a man who physiologically lives in a parallel universe. He's living in the current but he sees a future, very gothic and quite dystopian / cyberpunk-ish. In this future everyone is obsessed with having a religion, there's tons of them and he's really strange for not being committed to one! I think he's after someone? He gets capture at one point by the authorities and is flipped to do something for them (find someone?) he agrees but doesn't stick to it...

At one point in the end there's a fire / explosion in his house (in the current) but in his future he sees it totally different (but with similar consequences). His family's look for him in the current. There's one scene at the end where he's in his house and scoping out a guy in a cafe opposite him, I think this is when the explosion happens.

I think it came out after 2000. It's English. The title MAY start with "The ".

At one point in his future, he's after this man to get info, the man tries to kill him. The main guy says he'll remember, gets the info, then goes off.
