Default Starry Eyes (2014) - February 3rd, 2015

I've never created a thread for a release before, so I'm not sure how to import all the info. But this was what was included in the press release from this site :

MPI and Dark Sky Films will release Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch's Starry Eyes on Blu-ray early next year. The horror film stars Alex Essoe, Noah Segan, Pat Healy and Amanda Fuller. Street date is February 3, 2015.

Synopsis: Determined to make it as an actress in Hollywood, Sarah Walker (Essoe) spends her days working a dead-end job, enduring petty friendships with other struggling artists and competing actors, and going on countless casting calls in hopes of catching her big break. After a series of strange auditions, Sarah lands the leading role in a film from a mysterious production company. But this opportunity comes with some bizarre conditions that will transform her both mentally and physically into something beautiful... and altogether terrifying.

Entertainment Weekly's Clark Collis called Starry Eyes "a skillful combination of occult thriller and Cronenbergian gruesome-fest. Essoe gives a star-making performance." "One of the best horror films of the year. ... Brilliant and brutal," said Meredith Borders of Badass Digest. "Terrifying," said Time's Michael Roffman. "If David Lynch and David Cronenberg came together to craft a gory, psychological mindbender, it might be Starry Eyes."

Special features include:
Commentary with writer-directors Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer and producer Travis Stevens
10 deleted scenes
Music video by the film's composer, Jonathan Snipes
Alex Essoe's audition video
Behind-the-scenes photo gallery
Theatrical trailer

At first I was really let down that the artwork didn't utilize the amazing poster art, until I read on their website that it will feature reversible artwork.

Quote:
On February 3rd Starry Eyes hits DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download from MPI Home Video. As pictured above, the release will have new artwork on the cover, but will feature the award-winning retro artwork cover from Jay Shaw on the inside, as a reverisble slip!

I loved this movie. If you mixed the fly, Mulholland Drive, and Rosemarry's baby with a dash of really ugly 70's style grindhouse violence this is what you would get. It had a excellent retro synth score as well similar to the Maniac remake. The movie Definitely kept me on my toes as for most of the movie I really had no idea where the story was going which was great. Day 1 for sure. Really really happy they have the original artwork included because it's incredible.

Great movie. The dumbell wake up was one of the most brutal kills I've seen in a movie in quite some time.

Still waiting for a price drop...
