I've never ordered from Zavvi before, how is their shipping? Has anybody received damaged items from them before? I'm in the US.
Also, I'm wondering if this release will have the proper theatrical subs and not the dumbed down subs that were included on the first pressings of the US dvd/Blu-ray. |

I of course prefer OC fliks but some remakes can in fact be supportive to the original, exposing them to a wider audience (i.e. The Grudge, The Ring) whilst others should have never been made regardless since they totally distort the intent (i.e. Oldboy). I'd recommend giving "Let Me In" a view, I think you will find it strays just enough from the original to claim its own voice, without distorting the uniqueness of the original. ![]() |

Let Me In is one of those rare cases where the American remake is actually better than the original. Everything seems better in the remake, for me. Took out some of the weird stuff (puzzle, cats, scar), and then it's just polished. Filmmaking is better, acting is better, it's all great. Only seen the original once though. And that was after I'd seen the remake.
I don't always think more polished = better though. I prefer the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to the remake, even though the remake is much more polished. The original just seems more real. Raw. It suits the film better. Both are great in their own right though. |

I kind of thought the same, it feels a lot cheaper and almost a bit amateur compared to the front art.... but I liked the overall package enough to order it. It looks more interesting than the standard amarays, at least.

That is actually some pretty phenomenal art. I passed on the Kimchi releases but may grab this if the price is right. That spine art will also make it stand out in any collection. Slightly bigger fan of the remake but they're both excellent in their own way. This one is definitely creepier in my opinion (cat scene!!).
