I love this movie and will buy this to go with my other editions as well as any other special edition release they want to put out!!

Just not doing it for the American carbon copy!

I've never ordered from Zavvi before, how is their shipping? Has anybody received damaged items from them before? I'm in the US.
Also, I'm wondering if this release will have the proper theatrical subs and not the dumbed down subs that were included on the first pressings of the US dvd/Blu-ray.

Sweet!! I've been on the fence about getting the kimchidvd release of this movie, I think I'll go for the steel instead. Much less painful for my wallet and the that front art is dope.

I have ordered a lot of steels from Zavvi. The packaging isn't great, so on occasion one will arrive damaged, I think of the several dozen I have gotten, maybe 1 was bent and I got a replacement sent for it. They had asked me to mail the other one back, but when I informed them I was in the US, they scrapped that idea, postage would have been way too much!

lol this will be my third copy of LTROI.

I do think the cover would be a little bit better if it was just the body hanging among the trees, the branches turning into Eli looks a little out of place.

Dang! almost missed this! Ordered!
I've always had good luck (so far) with my Zavvi steelbook orders.
Still receiving them in either the white cardboard sleeves or double-wrapped cardboard.

Saw it when it first came out on DVD - never seen the remake.

Love the inside art:

I actually found the remake quite enjoyable.
I of course prefer OC fliks but some remakes can in fact be supportive to the original, exposing them to a wider audience (i.e. The Grudge, The Ring) whilst others should have never been made regardless since they totally distort the intent (i.e. Oldboy).

I'd recommend giving "Let Me In" a view, I think you will find it strays just enough from the original to claim its own voice, without distorting the uniqueness of the original.

Let Me In is one of those rare cases where the American remake is actually better than the original. Everything seems better in the remake, for me. Took out some of the weird stuff (puzzle, cats, scar), and then it's just polished. Filmmaking is better, acting is better, it's all great. Only seen the original once though. And that was after I'd seen the remake.

I don't always think more polished = better though. I prefer the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to the remake, even though the remake is much more polished. The original just seems more real. Raw. It suits the film better. Both are great in their own right though.

The backcover looks a bit odd. Doesn't look like her, looks kinda chubby because of the angle.

I kind of thought the same, it feels a lot cheaper and almost a bit amateur compared to the front art.... but I liked the overall package enough to order it. It looks more interesting than the standard amarays, at least.

The back is taken directly from this shot. She does look a little "chubbier" in it than she actually is.

That is actually some pretty phenomenal art. I passed on the Kimchi releases but may grab this if the price is right. That spine art will also make it stand out in any collection. Slightly bigger fan of the remake but they're both excellent in their own way. This one is definitely creepier in my opinion (cat scene!!).
