Default Wii U, PS4, or Xbox One?

I have a ps3 currently. My wife and I love playing games together like littlebigplanet, sonic allstars racing, rayman origins, etc.
I also like playing the Batman Arkham series, GTA, Saints Row, Resident Evil, Bayonetta, Mortal Kombat, COD, etc.
But those are secondary for me, mainly I want something to play with my wife.

We are leaning towards the Wii U, seems like it would have more games we could enjoy together. But im not sure if this is actually the case or just perception. Im also worried about the low hard drive storage for DL games.

Im not too familiar with the PS4 or Xbox One. Any info you can give me would be much appreciated. Also, any articles you can point me to that are worth reading. Thank you.

The Wii U is actually a great console, despite what some people might say. The game library is a little bare at the moment, but there are many quality titles coming and soon, including Bayonetta 2. It seems you will appreciate the kind of games you'll get on that console, especially since you'll still get the Batman and Call of Duty games. The Wii U is a lot of fun with other people in the same room, Nintendoland alone will keep you and your wife entertained.

As far as hard drive space you can always buy an external hard drive if needed.

If you're looking for just one console for you and your wife to enjoy together, you can't go too wrong with the Wii U. That said, combining the Wii U with one of the other consoles gets you the best of both worlds. I own a Wii U, and love it, but I will also be getting the PS4. It depends on how much you want to spend and whether the games on the other consoles interest you enough. Although, it seems like the Wii U will be enough for you two.

Well in a matter of opinion, I think Xbox one has the best potential for a game library. The 360 did great in its years and has a awesome library of games that you could enjoy, more than the Wii.

This is however debatable, depending on your gaming preferences.

In terms of getting to know the options, I highly recommend buying a couple of gaming magazines, like Edge and Game Informer. They'll give familiarity with the options and past/future games. Research the titles that you find interesting.

I want to buy a PS4 but I wanted to ask is it required that you purchase a charger with the system? I saw that at my local GameStop they had both PS4 Dualshock Controller and Charger for your controller for $60 bucks a piece.

Not required... just an add-on. System comes with a charging cable for your needs. However, I would recommend picking up an extension cable. or a larger mirco usb, from Amazon for like $6.00

http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-A-Male-A-Female-Extension-Meters/dp/B001TH7GUU/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1396378167&sr=8-12&keywords=ps4+cable+charger

Cable that comes with the system is rather short (like 3'), which makes it hard to play if your controller dies.

For PS4 charging, ya put these on the controller & never take them off...

..then drop the controller in this,

Then you never have to worry about charging or breaking the fragile micro USB port on the DS4 controller.

To charge the controller all you do is plug in it's usb cable and plug that into the playstation 4, your computer, or any typical usb charging device. You don't have to purchase some fancy charging station or anything.
