Default 24 - The Complete Series

How have they not come out with this already? I know it would be an expensive (and big) set but they need to do this. The dvd set is good, but I want HD!

They might do something when the movie comes out. Who knows they could be working on the transfer now.

With the new season coming, surely they will have to release this?

Everyone thought the same thing when the show "ended" with season 8.

It would be nice to see something released this year, but I'm not holding my breath.

Were the first seasons produced in HD? I remember reading something about the first seasons not looking good enough for Blu-ray...

All 8 seasons were shot on 35mm.

From:
http://illuminatehollywood.com/wp-co...ginal-film.pdf

"What kind of projects have you recently completed?

We’ve done a number of feature films, MOWs and TV series. Some programs were very complex, like the 24 TV series. This program had a lot of unique four-panel, multi-panel composite shots. We were able to find every single film element in these multi-panel shots, which would have thrown a monkey wrench into doing it manually. What iConform allowed us to accomplish would not have been possible using eye matching."

All of the seasons are available in HD on Netflix. If a Complete Series set is to be released, it would have to include the new 2014 season.

I believe some of those are simply upscales though. If you compared Season 1 to say Season 7/8 you can see the difference.

Amazon Instant Video has a better HD version of Season 1, but I am uncertain whether it is a better upscale than Netflix or a real HD source.

It depends on how you watch. I just re-watched Season 1 on my TV, and it was real HD as far as I could see. Watching in a browser or with an app doesn't give you HD.

That's interesting. I did kinda notice a difference, but I thought my TV just made it appear 'sharper' as opposed to more detailed and in HD. On my monitor it just looks like a DVD. On Amazon Instant Video, it is both HD on my monitor and TV though.
