Default New Teen Titans Omnibus

After doing some research I've started collecting hardcover editions covering characters/writers/artists that I find the most inspring and/or compelling works of art.

Without saying, this has become quite expensive so I have to be careful what I want and budget accordingly.

I noticed the George Perez run of New Teen Titans is collected in three Omnibus Hardcover editions that are now out of print. Living in Los Angeles I was hoping to come across any of these at my local comic book shops but no luck to date.

Ebay sales have been over $150 for Vol. 1. Is this what I should expect to pay? Does anyone know if it's worth the price? I've heard some negative comments on the binding used for these editions but would love to hear some feedback.

Also, if anyone knows of a comic book retailer in their area selling these editions I would appreciate any and all help pointing me in the right direction.

Thank you!

Expect to pay double or triple the retail value of any omnibus a few months following the official OOP status. As for the binding, it can be poorly done. Look out for GLUED binding because the book will be negatively effected by gravity (it being upright for a long period of time). In addition, glued binding will begin to split after reading which has always been an issue with avid readers.

What I do when I'm on a mission is call random stores across the United States and hope they have a copy. That's how I found Punisher MAX, Vol. 4 and the Death of Captain America omnibus.

Hope this helps a bit. Good hunting!

I don't have any advice to give as to how to pick one of these New Teen Titans (NTT) Volume 1 Omnibuses up for a good price, but I will say that it's an amazing volume. I got it when it was released back in late Summer 2011, and it remains one of my all time favorite collected edtions (I collect these reprints of older comics).

Note a couple of interesting things about this volume (at least to me):

-It was $75 retail when it was released; this is a great price for an Omni of this size (granted, it's much more expensive now). As was said, if possible it's best to pick these up right when they come out, so you won't have to worry about them going up in price.

-Some of the issues reprinted here had been previously reprinted in the New Teen Titans HC Archives volumes, from the late '90's - late 200X's. Note that this Omni is a much better deal than the Archives, since each Archive retailed for $50 each & only contained 8 issues....

And the binding issue is really only with vol. 1, the other two seem to be much studier and not as tight.
