Shane Black Unsure About IRON MAN 4 Return, But Thinks Downey, Jr. Will Return
The winner of our recent Iron Man 3 contest - in which we offered one lucky fan the chance to interview Shane Black and Drew Pearce - has gotten back to us with some highlights from their chat and they include some very interesting tidbits of information! Firstly, when the former was asked about whether he would be interested in working with Marvel again either on Iron Man 4 or another movie, he said: "Well, Marvel would have to ask me because they're famous for not working with the same people twice, and who's to say they would ever approach me so that's something we'll cross when we come to it." Joss Whedon made similar comments when The Avengers was released, so expect to see Black return if he's willing and if (well, when) the movie proves to be a success at the box office.
The British website London Evening Standard writes:
Robert Downey Jr. will return for Iron Man 4, according to the director of the latest superhero outing.
The 48-year-old actor has thus far refused to confirm if he will make another movie in the successful franchise, but director Shane Black is confident Downey Jr. will return for at least one more outing as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
Speaking at the Iron Man 3 UK premiere at Odeon Leicester Square, Black said: "I think he'll be back for another one. I'm sure of it."
Iron Man 3 opens in the US on May 3rd and in the UK on April 25th.
