Default Vudu now available on Chromecast!

Quietly added support this past weekend. It's about time!

Anyway, it's up now!

I wonder if this supports subtitles and 3D.

About time, tried it out this weekend, works pretty good! That being said, my Roku Streaming Stick is coming in tomorrow and thats a much better option for me (built in apps, optional remote, far more channels)

has anyone actually gotten this to work?

I go to vudu on my PC (in chrome), and when I go into a movie page from my library there's a cast icon next to the SD/HD/HDX icons, but when I actually play the movie there is no "cast" icon on the player to click and send it to my chromecast.

Awesome. The recent app updates for both Android and iOS only said they had bug fixes. Streams in HDX without issue.

I just wish there were better fast forward and rewind options. Hopefully in a future update.

If you have subtitles enabled on the app, and the title you're playing has subtitles available, they'll play through Chromecast.

I don't have any 3D titles in my Vudu collection, so I can't speak to that.

My android phone can't get Vudu, so I can only use it from my PC. But the Vudu web player has no cast icon, so it can't send it from there.
So basically it turns out this new development is completley useless to me.

It seems like the web player might not have been updated yet. According to the Chromecast Setup page from Vudu, it looks like a cast button should be available on the control bar after starting something. It's not there yet, but hopefully it will be coming soon.

yeah, that's what I'm hoping. I saw that example of where the icon should be, and it's not, so this update must not be fully operational yet.

The button should be there, but only if you use Chrome, and have the chromecast extension installed.

I am using chrome and the chromecast extension is installed. But the Vudu player chromecast button is not present.
There's the generic "cast this page" button on the chrome browser is there, but that's not what we're talking about. That doesnt really work very well with streaming video.

Even when using all of the above, it's currently not there, at least for several people.

The cast icon you see on the landing page for a title isn't a button (at least not yet), and there's no cast button after starting a title. Launching the Chromecast extension does nothing.
